Question about Dell Latitude D620 Notebook
My boss has a DELL Lattitude D620 that is plugged into the docking station. It has a problem - I have the task to find a solution.
The problem is that it will intermittantly freeze when there is traffic on the ethernet port (of the docking station). I have tried updating the driver but there doesn't seem to be any updated version available.
It freezes in different applications at different times, but mostly high traffic generating software like printing PDFs or using our accounting package (MYOB) to our server. Some other times it freezes when Adobe Acrobat and MYOB are not running so I don't think it is specifically those applications.
It does not appear to freeze when using the wireless adapter (but of course the speed is slower) - this is not preferred.
It does not appear to freeze when uning the internal ethernet adapter.
It just seems to freeze intermittantly when using the adapter in the dock.
Check the dock, there might be a problem in the dock, you can also try insulating the edges of the dock with some tapes before docking and plugging the dell, sometimes a short spike of static can hang the computer. If all else fails, dell has a pretty good customer support, you can go contact them...
