Samsung 42" projection green and only green out of focus? Bulb? Tube? IC?
I just had new IC put in the board. Green and only green seems to be the problem. I can see it pulse in and out but it just looks out of focus and over shadows the blue and red on the Convergence menue alinement. Does anyone know what I should do? Please no one seems to be able to help me on this problem.

Just had new Ic?? Meaning single?? The symptoms you're describing are a convergence failure. That unit takes Stk392-040 Sanyo Ics and be aware there are a ton of Chineese knock-offs out there that can cause you real trouble, so purchase them from only a reputable part distributor... You need to change both amps, test all 3.9 ohm-2w resistors in that circuit, like Rz123 and Rz124 and check Fd102 3.5a pico fuse for open. That's actually a really easy set to work on for convergence problems because the entire convergence amp board is easily removed.

Sounds like convergence should replace chips marked Q 751 and Q752 part numbers ( stk392-110) check restors 1.8 ohms 1 watt rateing should be marked on board as R 7721 and so on, should more than one in the area of the ic. Look to see if there is some small fuses in the area also. They dont look like a normal fuse may be yellow or green black marked F on board around the ics these fuses are called pico fuse.
use you're remote to enter code mute 183 while tv is on then press 7 for red 8 for green and 9 for blue control. arrows or knobbie will move cursor. if you still can not control the red you will need to change the red convergence ic...press perfect focus to save changes if pf is not on remote maybe on tv if neither you will need to get a remote that has it to save info.
Let me know the symptom in detail. Green bulb (CRT) gives high bright light and tv goes to standby? Do you see few horizontal (retrace) lines while this happens? If yes, you need to replace Green bulb (CRT) of your tv. Please mention exact model number of tv to guide you further. and what IC chip you replaced in tv?
A fuse is just a piece of wire so it has very low resistance. To test it with a multimeter select Ohms and the lowest range. The resistance will be nearly 0 if it's good and very high or infinity if it's bad.
If the set is working at all it's probably not the fuses, though.
To check the pico fuses you're merely testing for continuity. If you get an infinate reading you're in good shape - if it doesn't budge the meter the fuse is open... That's a really easy set to work on for convergence problems - the convergence board is easily removed..
Another cause for mis-alignment like that are the youke return resistors... There are several out front of the convergence amps that may have changed in value. They are 3.9 ohm - 2w resistors and will look identical to Rz123 and Rz124 (same banding). For those simply select a low ohm setting on the meter and check to see if any of them have some way low or way high reading...
Need anything else just ask...
If the picture is all green and does not shutdown then is probably not the tube and you need to check the green output transistor witch is ussually located in the crt board in the neck of the green tube, you also have an IC that gives the colors then you have a driver and finally the output,(IC and driver rarely go bad but is possible),when you pull the board out of the tube make sure it comes out easy,do not twist the board because it might brake the pins in the tube(gun) and then we will have big problems, many times they secure the board to the tube with silicone and it needs to be removed or cut before the board will come out. Each gun has an output and the defective one should be replaced with an exact replacement.Check also the conections in the green crt board.Let us know if you need more information.
Nope you did it! Its the blue tube. Go to http://www.samsungparts.com and enter your model number and look up the tube. I did one last month for someone at techlore.com Are you the same person? Oh well look it up but do you have the proper equipment to replace this tube, as its very dangerous to handle!! They have a tendency to implode and then explode if not handled right.
