I must be in KBII as none of the keys are typing what they are. How do I get out of it?

The code and "5" key will get you out of KKII.

Can't type the @ symbol

Most likely you are in KBII mode. Most Brother T/W's have captions above the top row of keys the code and the KBII WILL DO IT.

You are probably in KBII. Across the top row of keys there are letters one should be KBII Press alt with this key and you will go back to KBI.

You are most likely in KBII mode. There should be a slide switch or a top row key with KBII printed above it that requires the code key to turn it off.

Printing a lot of symbols

If it is printing the wrong symbol you are probably in KBII mode. There may be a KBII key or more likely a key in the top row with KBII above it, press code and that key.

YOU must put it in KBII. The top row of keys have things written, above them hold code and press the one labeled KBII then you can assecc the additional symbols.

If it is typing the alternate symbol you are in KBII. Find the key labeled KBII usually in the top row press the code or alt key with that key to get you out of it.

I am not able to type the @ symbol on my Brother typewriter. Model #EM-530. I have tried everything it is driving me crazy. Thanks for your help!!

If it is typing the alternate symbol on the key you are in KBII. The code key with the key in the top row labeled KBII will get you out of that mode.

You didn't give a model but generally the KBII key is in the upper row and requires the use of the code key. If your problem is inly with the 5 key you may need a printwheel.

How do I type degrees symbol on a Swintec 8014 S?

Tou have to go into KBII mode CODE and 4 or 5 KBII is marked above it then you can get to the Extra char. on the keys.
