MFC640 Printer had a paper jam I took the paper out from the back put the cover back on its still flashing paper jam. what should I do?

TRY OPENING AND INSPECTING ALL AREAS WHERE THE PAPER GOES. USE A TORCH OR BRIGHT LIGHT TO CHECK IF THERE ANY BITS OF PAPER. ALSO CHECK IF ANY BITS MISSING FROM THE JAMBED SHEET OF PAPER. LOOK FOR A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER. AROUND THE ROLLERS OR PAPER MOVEMENT AREA. .ALSO IF PRINT HEAD IS ON LEFT SIDE GENTLY MOVE IT TO THE CENTRE WITHOUT TOUCHING ANYTHING, AND CHECK FOR ANY PAPER BITS BEHIND THE PRINT HEAD..
TO DO THIS YOU MUST REMOVE THE PAPER JAM COVER AT REAR OF MACHINE, LIFT UP THE WHOLE SCANNER COVER AND INSPECT. WHEN COMPLETE REPLACE THE REAR COVER AND CLOSE THE MACHINE. THEN RETRY.
HOPE THIS HELPS BARRY UBON.

HL 2140. How do you remove jammed paper from inside printer

Hi there,
You can remove the jammed paper by removing the drum and toner inside the printer.
First Open the front cover, just pull down the cover right above the brother logo. You will see the handle for the drum and toner. Hold the handle and pull it towards you, just use a little force on it. Then remove the jammed paper inside. Just to be sure you can remove the toner from the drum by holding down the green tab on the side of the drum unit. then pull the toner out. Check if there's a small piece of paper inside the drum unit. Put the toner back to the drum make sure it clicks into place. Reinstall the drum and toner back to the printer. It should also click into place. Then close the cover.
Hope this helps. Rate if it works. Thanks

Paper is jammed in my HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One. Can't figure out how to open machine to remove paper.

Follow these steps to clear the jam from the product. Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove any loose sheets of paper from the input tray and the output tray.
CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Trying to clear jammed paper from the front of the product can damage the print mechanism. CAUTION: Never pull jammed paper from the front of the product. Pulling paper from inside the front cover can cause mechanical damage to the product. Always access and clear paper jams through the rear access door.
  1. With the product powered on, disconnect the power cord, USB cable, and Ethernet cable from the rear of the product.
  2. Press in the tab on the rear access door to release the door. Pull the door away from the product to remove it. Figure 1: Remove the rear access doorc00703963.gif
  3. To avoid tearing jammed paper, gently grab both edges of the jammed paper, and then pull with even pressure to remove.
  4. Use a flashlight to thoroughly check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product.
CAUTION: Make sure to remove any bits of torn paper from the rollers inside the product. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more jams are likely to occur. Figure 2: Check the product for bits of torn paperc01979299.gif
  5. While you have the rear access door removed, check the rollers with your fingers. Rollers should roll freely and feel springy. If rollers are missing or do not turn freely, buy a replacement rear access door. Click here to order a replacement part from HP .
  6. Reattach the rear access door. Gently push the door toward the product until it snaps into place.
Step three: Clear the jam from the front of the All-in-One
CAUTION: Carefully remove bits of torn or jammed paper from the front of the product. If you pull too hard on jammed paper, you might damage the print mechanism.
  1. Make sure that you disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
  2. Open the cartridge access door. Figure 3: Open the cartridge doorc00372271.gif
  3. Gently pull out any jammed bits or torn pieces of paper from the rollers inside the product.
CAUTION: If the paper tears when you remove it from the rollers, check the rollers for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If pieces of paper remain in the product, more paper jams might occur.
  4. Close the cartridge access door.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
  6. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.

Stylus CX9400 Photo Printer: paper jammed inside printer...

If paper is jammed, a Paper jam message will appear on the control panel display.

Follow these steps to clear the jam:

  1. Gently pull any jammed paper out of the output tray or sheet feeder.

  2. If the paper is stuck inside, turn off the Epson Stylus CX.

  3. Open the scanner, remove the jammed paper and torn pieces, close the scanner, and turn the Epson Stylus CX back on.

alert_note.gif Note: Be sure to check the far left of the carriage area when checking for jammed paper. Paper that is jammed there may be hidden from view.
If paper jams inside the Automatic Document Feeder, clear the jam as follows:

  1. Open the Automatic Document Feeder cover and remove any jammed paper.

Starts to print but jams on left side. After paper is about halfway in, left side jams, paper tilts right, and print aborts.

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

The paper keeps jamming and the printer makes a clicking sound when trying to print

  1. Remove left cover (where the USB connection is located);
  2. Remove big black gear with a spring on it (you may need to unscrew the PCB that partially covers it);
  3. There is a clutch that sticks to the rubber pad behind this gear. You may put a piece of scotch tape towards to a rubber pad, so the plastic from clutch mechanism would'n stick anymore. http://www.phillycopiers.com/fix/hl-2040-2070-fix.jpg

Paper jam at B2

remove the paper tray or all paper trays that you have.
To remove the a tray first you should pull it towards you the most you can than by pulling towards you and in the same time you should lift it up.So again i will explain the procedure, first when is pulled to the max out of the copier you should lift it up for some 45 degrees and than pull it toward you. When you will remove the paper tray or trays inside of the copier where ware the paper tray on the right side of the inside should have some piece of paper which is stuck there. After you will remove the piece of paper the copier should not jammed the paper in B2.
Also see do the paper in the tray is putted as most close to the right fence of the tray, also see do the right green leveler is also closest to the paper in the tray. If the paper on the left and right side of the upper named fences is loosen than the rubber on the right side of the tray will not be able to pull up the paper in the copier when it will need to do it.

Ok I fixed this problem. It has to do with Tension on the rod inside the back cover. Open the back cover and remove it. Then emove the black plastic piece by un hooking it on the left side and pull it down then toward you. You will see a rod attached to it that runs to the right. The right end of the rod has a lever that travels in a slot on the right side of the printer. There is a small spring on the rod. Here lies your problem. There has to be enough tension on this spring to activate a switch in the slot on the right side of the printer. Make sure the spring is installed properly. This is a low tension spring so nothing will come flying out when you remoe it and re install it properly. A piece of paper can dislodge this spring. When you get it apart you can quickly see how it should be put back in. E-mail me if you need further help landis1471@comcast.net
