Hi,

As you never mentioned the Make and Model, so let me offer a Generic Solution that would help you :-

  1. Move the washer out from the wall so you can remove the back. You may need another person to help move it because it is full of clothes and water. It would be easier to take the wet clothes out and put them in a pail or nearby laundry sink and then try to bail or pump the water out. It will be a messy operation, but easier in the long run.
  2. Step 2 Remove the back of the washer. Use screw drivers, nut drivers or hex head wrenches to remove the screws or fasteners on the back casing of the washer. Don't forget to unplug the washer from the electrical socket first. If it is a gas dryer, remove the hose from the gas line and temporarily cap off the line at the wall. Be very careful with gas lines and be sure they are capped off securely.
  3. Step 3 Find the belt. Belts are usually easy to find. They look much like fan belts in cars or belts in vacuum cleaners. A damaged one will be easy to spot. It will be broken altogether or so loose from wear that it does not grab the pulley and turn the washer drum.
  4. Step 4 Loosen the bolt on the motor bracket. Use a crescent wrench for this job. In a pinch a pair of pliers may do. Move the motor to put slack in the belt. Even if the belt is broken, you will still need to move the motor to install the new belt.
  5. Step 5 Remove the old belt. Stretch a new one into place on the pulleys.
  6. Step 6 Put tension on the new belt by using a hammer handle or a short pry bar to push the motor into position while you tighten the bolt in the adjustable bracket. Leave about 1/2-inch of slack when you press it in the center. If it is too loose, it will slip on the pulleys. If it is too tight, it wears quickly and may start to smoke or burn.
  7. Step 7 While you are in there tighten the pulleys by checking and tightening set screws all around the pulley hub. You may forestall another problem in the future by taking care of pulleys now while it is convenient.
Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Loud grinding noise when spinning. So I layed the machine down on its front to work on it. I loosened the belt, and then removed the lint catcher pump. I cleaned the pump by flushing and reverse flushing...

Just so you know, in the first place, (NEVER PLACE A WASHING MACHINE IN ANY POSITION BUT UPRIGHT. That's just asking for a leaking gearcase (transmission)! Your best bet is to call a technician. It sounds more like stress on the drivetrain from the water weight! The only way to tell would be to pull the case off to observe the tub as the water fills to see if the tub is indeed pusing downward!

Put The Belt On The Motor First Then Put What You Can Get Of The Belt On The Other Pulley And Turn It. It Will Give You The Anchorage Needed To Put The Belt Back In Position. If This Doesn't Help Let Me Know And I Will Further Assist You.

Washin Machine Spinning Problem

The main tub bearing is stuffed, thus the noise. The spindle becomes loose and the belt rides off. Bearings can be replaced.
Hope that helps.

How to replace the belt on a Samsung J845 front loader washing machine

Its on the back of machine and after you remove the back cover plate youll see that its very easy to install the new one.You shouldnt have to use any tools to put on the new belt.Just loop it around the motor pulley and around the large tub pulley that you see right in front of you.It may even appear to be too tight while your winding it on the pulleys but its not .

How to get back off to put belt on samsung b1445s washing machine

See if the motor has adjustment , ie a slotted fixing hole, slacken the fixing bolts slightly and motor may move up and down to give adjustment, put the belt on and then put some tension on the belt once fitted by moving the motor down and tightening the motor bolts at the same time.
Or if no adjustment put the belt on the motor spindle first and then the drum by turning the drum as the belt is eased onto it.
