See if this describes what's happening:

  • Put in time, push start and unit runs for 2 seconds, relay clicks, unit goes off. Cook time on display goes off and clock time comes back. Bad upper interlock switch and charred connector
If so, see http://www.microwavedisplay.com/safety.txt , http://www.microwavedisplay.com/disassembly.txt and http://www.microwavedisplay.com/doorsw.txt

Otherwise, if the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

It may be a loose connection in the wiring between the inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of those components has failed.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I have a 18mth old Panasonic dimensions 4 invertor microwave oven that turns on for 3 or 4 seconds and stops altogether, any ideas?

What does the clock say after it stops? Is the time still correct, or is it wrong? Or maybe you mean only the turntable stops spinning, in which case the problem may just be that it needs a new belt! Try RepairClinic.com if that is the case!

My turntable on Panasonic NNA883W combi oven has stopped working is it easy to fix it just freely turns with no resistance

Usually underneath the plate is a square or triangular spigot which should fit into the plate recess these are usually plastic but some are ceramic in combi ovens and are prone to breaking.if you can't lift out the spigot from inside oven to inspect...then you may need to gain access the the bottom of microwave.always disconnect appliances from power supply before removal of internal/external parts.

Turntable wheel under glass tray broken

If the microwave comes with a roller ring to rotate the glass turntable then I would recommend that it needs to be used when the microwave is operating, as the turntable rotates the food so it can be heated evenly.

I would recommend checking with your local Panasonic repairer he may have access to a new roller or even a second hand one to tide you over.

Panasonic Microwave Problem

Even though these are different symptoms, the same part may be causing both.

If the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will stop the cook cycle.

If it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a problem, usually a problem with the inverter or a bad magnetron.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

3 second cooking time

It's possible a sensor or thermistor got unplugged during your work and didn't get plugged back in. Otherwise, I would suspect the microprocessor got "glitched". If so, *maybe* unplugging the oven from the power line for a few minutes will reset it. Or maybe the unit has a reset button or another reset procedure (I doubt that, but check the manual). Sadly, another common cause for this is that the code in the microprocessor gets irretrievably corrupted. In such cases, we can replace micro if it is available. It it's no longer available, that would make the whole microwave a goner. Looks like both the micro (LSI display) and the whole control board for this model are available from Panasonic parts: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr
