This pc uses AGP graphic cards. no need to get a super fancy card that will be bottlenecked in the system. try zotac geforce 6200A (256mb ddr2)

Install ATI Radeon X1550 PIC on Acer Aspire E650

If you think the PC boots up but just no screen, check the Graphics settings in BIOS for first/initial diaplay with PCI instead of other Graphics Ports (on board/PCIe/PCI/AGP)? Disable on board display if any.

No display when using bulit in graphic card or AGP grahic card

ok!

first,

check your
motherboard
if all pin is conected properly

check your power suplly
try to replace the power supply

is not necessary to replace the power supply with the original powersupply
replace with standart 350 watt power supply (or higher)

then if the problem is still exsist
check *********** board
try to replace the motherboard

replace it with
any socket 478 motherboard

if nothing change
try to replace the RAM module
replace it with any DDR RAM module

then the last one
if nothing change
you must replace your processor
with an 478 socket processor

note: replace the component with borrowed
you  can borrow the component from your friends or anyone
then if your computer is showing display again
you can buy the component from ebay

Graphics Card

It looks like, from Acer's website, that the sa90 has a PCIe-x16 graphics card.

To be sure, let's get this program:
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

Scroll to the bottom for the download link. On the first tab, you'll see Bus interface. That's the type of card you have and the type you should buy to replace yours.

AGP Video slot

the DDR doesn't matter.

your motherboard has a AGP x8 port, most if not all cards for agp will work!

buy a AGP x8 card. - I have no idea what you mean with series 1 or 2, that has never come up within the 10 years I've worked with computers.

You can learn about the AGP port here
