Question about Acer Aspire 5000 Notebook
Acer 5000 will not start up. Takes me to options screen where you can choose start windows normally, last good configuration etc, but then reboots and comes back to the same screen continuously whichever option you choose.
A Windows system file is corrupt.
The best thing to do is reinstalling the system.
This can be done either using original recovery CD, or using Windows setup disk.
To preserve your data you will need to chose partial recovery or upgrade setup.
Windows XP CDs has also a tool called Recovery Console that can be used to repair this kind of problem.
Here the procedure to fix the problem using Windows Recovery Console:
ATTRIB -H -R -S C:\BOOT.INI
BOOTCFG /REBUILD FIXBOOT
