Question about Canon (6981A002AA) for imagerunner 2200, 2800, 3300 Print Server

1 Answer

Canon ir2200i can't open scanned PDF image

If I try to push scan to file in PDF the machine scans the document and the file is created in the folder however when I try to open the document with "Acrobat Reader 9" the message "not enough data to create an image appears" unless the actual scanned document contains a very small image then it works fine. If I try to push scan to file in TIFF the machine scans the document and the file is created in the folder however when I try to open the document only part of the image from the top of the page is there (usually about 1/2 inch). If I pull scan using scan gear it works fine. I upgraded all the system software and the memory. Please help! Thanks, John.

Bothers MCF-490CW 4 in 1 || scanner - when scanning multiple pages, what must I do so when I send as an attachment the attachment is one group instead of each individual sheet?

Create a WORD document then paste each images on a page, save the Word document and then send this Word document as an attachment in your e-mail.
If you do net want to send the Word document then you can create a PDF of the Word document and send the PDF file as an attachment.

When you set your scan settings, it will ask you where to save the images to. Usually in a My Scans folder. But you can put them in any folder.
When creating an email, select add attachment, then select the folder your scans are in.

Open your Adobe Acrobat (e.g., 9.0 Pro), load your pages into the document feeder (fewer than 30 at a time), then ask Adobe Acrobat to create PDF from scanner (File/Create PDF/From Scanner). Canon MP530 as the scanner and click OK. Works like a charm!

You can save the scanned data on a USB memory or a memory card by using the control panel.

IMPORTANT

- You can not use USB memory card and memory card simultaneously.

1 .Select Scan (Scan) on page HOME (HOME) and then press the OK button.

The screen where you select where the data should be saved is displayed.

2 .Turn the USB memory card direct print port or memory card into the slot.

3 .Select USB flash drive (USB flash drive) or memory card (Memory card) and then press the OK button.

4 .Select Save on USB disk (Save to USB flash). The screenshot Scan documents (Scan document) is displayed.

5. State the necessary settings and then press the OK button.

6. Place the original on the glass plate as shown on the LCD screen.

7. Press the [color] (Color) for scanning in color, or button [Black] (Black) for scanning in black and white.

When the preview is enabled, press the OK button after viewing the preview pane on the LCD screen.

The machine starts scanning and the scanned data is stored either on the USB memory card. Remove the original from the glass plate, the scan is complete.

REFERENCE

Can't find file where scan goes from Canon MX850

When you choose email or pdf you should be shown a file name of the file - search your computer for this file using Start>Search>For Files and Folders (XP) or Start>Search (Vista). When you locate the folder the files are in create a shortcut to it on your desktop. The obvious places to look would be in your My Documents folder or the Program Folder for the application (C:\Program Files\Canon?)

Question about copying direct from scan to a Word document

Check if your Canon software creates a PDF image. A scanned image is a RASTER image, a series of dots, that 'appear' like text or drawing. You cannot use Ctrl-C or Ctrl-v. If the software creates a PDF file, you can cut & paste. Usr any good OCR (Optical Character recognition) software ad convert the raster image to editable text. Then you can cut & paste.
