Re: 6700 ppc errors

There is a Windows Mobile 6 version available for download from in the apache upgrades forum. There you can get a new version of the OS along with better media playing programs built into the ROM therefore clearing more of your RAM. I have 42mb free RAM with my cooked kitchen WM6 on my phone with 2x the options!

Good luck!

On my htc, the low memory message keeps coming up. I put in a microsd 2gig chip. the same message comes up? I originaly had a .5 gig chip. is there an insalation process involved?

You should remove programs you have on the phone and then reinstall them, you'll have the option to install them on the memory card instead of the phones main memory. This should free up space and help the phone run smoother. Also store pictures, music, and video files on the memory card.

I am going to guess that since you can copy some types of media files to your phone then the problem is the format of the video files you want to copy. The phone's media playing application may not show files it cannot recognize.(or show an error message).

If you want to watch videos (or movies) on any type of smart phone or mobile player then I suggest you download a free application called Format Factory. It converts any type of media file to any other type of media file (video, music, pictures, DVDs). It has settings for Blackberry phones, iPods, PsP, etc. Go to: and check it out.

Cant store data

You need to connect an SD card reader to your computer and pull the card from the PPC-6700, copy the contents to a directory on your hard drive and then remove that card from the reader, insert the new card and copy the content of the directory you just copied the old card to the new card. That is all you need to do.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information or for other questions.

EM-500 music transfer

Seeing that you are using a EM500 with only 16mb of RAM, you might want to get a SD/MMC Card. With that being said, let's do this, shall we? Connect your PPC to your desktop using ActiveSync, then press on the TAB "Explore" then "My Pocket PC". You are interest in the "My Documents" folder, that is where you will place your .WMA, MP3, OGG files. Just copy the music file from your desktop that you want on your PPC, and then paste it to the "My Documents" folder of your PPC. Now if you have a storage card (MMC/SD), you will have to create a folder on the storage card and name it to "My Documents". So you will then have 2 My Documents folders, one on storage card, and 1 on the PPC. If you want the Music file on the storage card to save space on your PPC, then do the following. Connect the PPC to your desktop using activesync, then press on the TAB "Explore" then "My Pocket PC". You then need to click on the "Storage Card" folder, there you will see your "My Documents" folder you created. Just copy the music file from your desktop that you want on your PPC, then paste it to that folder. To speed things up, you can also use a MMC/SD Reader. you can then copy and paste directly on the memory card, without going thru ActiveSync. Goodluck, and have fun!
