Go into power settings and disable the option to allow windows to turn the device off in Hibernation mode. Even though the machine is not hibernating if the screen saver activates or windows doesn't detect traffic on the card for some reason windows will power down the device.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My computer doesn't recognize my wireless card and has no wifi utility

Did you install the software first? The Belkin card should have had a CD with drivers. I believe the directions say to install the software first, then install the card.
Also, the min. specs are listed on the Belkin box. Check to be sure your computer meets them.

Hey, I have a Belkin Dual-Band Wireless A+G Desktop Network Card, but I can't find the correct driver to download. I tried the f63000 but it still is not recognizing the Internet source...any ideas?

You tried this one?
http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F6D3000&aid=6033&scid=223

How about this one?
http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/499/kw/f6d3000

I did notice that there is no specified support for 64-bit versions of ANY OS,
and doesn't specify compatibility with any version of Vista or 7.

Try uninstalling any software and drivers you tried so far, then also remove the entry from Device Manager... THEN install one of the above drivers.

Internet keeps getting disconnected.Computer needs rto restart

there is nothing to do with adapter... you need to check with some other laptop to isolate where is the issue...

if your laptop works fine without dropping connection then get a replacement for your belkin adapter...

if your laptop also looses connection, then you need to check your wireless router...

Add wireless card

You can add one via a USB port like THESE

Or you can add one to an empty PCI slot on your motherboard if you have one available. Like This One

Cant get Wireless card to connect to netopia wireless router

There are some things you might try.

The Belkin card will come with third party software you can disable this utility by right clicking on the icon in the Taskbar and choosing "Use Windows Zero Configuration".

Then you will need to go into Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services >> Wireless Zero Configuration >> Right click and check that the service is starting automatically >> click on Start >> Apply - that should then detect your wireless network and the internet.

MY ROUTER KEEPS LOSING CONNECTION

Hello fieldon68, & to all the rest with the same problem.

There are many things that could be wrong, but intermittant discounnects sounds very much like a interverance from another wireless device. (ie phone, cell, etc)

To try to address this issue, follow the steps below:
Note : The steps below are applicable only for Belkin routers.
  1. Open an Internet Explorer window on your computer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. This will take you to the Belkin router's web based configuration page. If you are not able to open the page click here.
  2. You will get a login page. Leave the password blank. Click Submit ( unless you created a password, then enter that).
  3. On the left side of the page, click Channel and SSID below Wireless .
  4. The wireless channel on the Belkin router is set to Auto by defualt. Change the wireless to a static channel. Click Apply Changes .
  5. Click Logout in the top right hand corner.
Note: The wireless card in the computer will automatically detect the change in channel number on the router and will update the channel on the card.
CauseYou get disconnected wirelessly mainly due to an environmental interference. When the wireless channel is set to auto, the router will cycle to though channels when it detects significant interference. When the router changes channel the wireless connection will reset itself and disconnect all wireless clients connected to the router. Wireless signals are prone to interference from cordless phones and electrical appliances (e.g., vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens). This is one of the more popular reasons Belkin wireless connections can drop. Good Luck Mark P.S. Please leave a rating.
