I have a V3m and like a week ago I was driving and tried to send a text message when I realise a lot of the buttons weren't working. I tried turning on and off the phone and it came back on, but it didn't solve the problem. I figured I'd call Verizon about it but couldn't find the number. Another issue that occurred simultaneously was that whenever I would open the phone, it would dial "0" without me pressing any keys. It wouldn't send the call, it would just type a zero by itself. After a few days, most of the keys came back to life and the 0 stopped. Now I still am having problems with the 7 and 8 key and I was wondering if someone can help me get them working again. I tried taking the battery out and letting it sit but it didn't do anything. I also noticed that the sticker under the battery is red, which I was told meant water damage, though I've never gotten my phone wet. I believe the phone is a little under a year old if it matters.

You can actually delete the unnecessary SMS from your phone to make sure that the phone memory is not really full, outbox, sent items, drafts and inbox. You can also check if the message center number that you are using is the correct SMS center number assigned for your service provider, you might need replacing it with another message center numbers. You can call your service provider for the list of SMS center numbers that you can try to use. thanks for choosing www.fixya.com
my phone has had this problem 5 times since i got it a year ago.. it would do everything except send texts, so i kept sending it to get fixed. i just got it back about a week ago after they finally "REPLACED" it, and its not sending texts again, BUT they'll send if the text is in a MMS format (multimedia)... i think your best bet is to chuck the phone and get a different one.
I mentioned this in another area. We just got my son a motorola razr v3m, verizon. Any time he tried to check his inbox (which is text) or tried to send a text it would show memory full....this was the same if he tried to take a picture and send it.
First take out your battery, with the battery out, hold down you on button for like 15 seconds to drain the phone of juice, then put your battery back in it and turn it on. If this did not reset your phone, and if you are on verizon as your carrier, then you need to call them and make sure that they have you set up on their text messaging program. It used to be that if you didn't have, then they would charge you .20 cents a text, but with some of the razr, such as the v3m, you have to actually be on a monthly text plan to view inbox, send text, send pics, and receive pics and texts.
