SOURCE: how to check for blown fuse

There should be a fuse plugged into the back of the stereo, remove the fuse and check the element of the fuse for being broke in half. Also, check the fuse in the car that supplies power to the stereo.

Whats the problem of my onkyo m-501 it has no power

unplugged with nO power cord connected,,after checking for any internal blown fuses, inspect circuit board for burnt resistors or blown caps, the resistors will appear to be laying on there sides and have multi colored bands around them look for burnt or discolored ones, blown capacitors will look like tiny barrels with lids a flat top indicates a good capacitor as any humped or bulged or rounded top would indicate blown cap , if not more than a couple you may be able to replace these with success, be careful always Unplug from power before servicing electronic componants.

What`s the problem of no power of onkyo amplifier m-501

EITHER blown caps or burnt internal fuses, look around on the circuit board for capacitors with rounded or humped ends, find and check internal fuses and test them

I have a Kenwood kr-v8010 and all a suddenly one channel is only working just woundering if its a easy fix?

Could be a speaker wiring issue, defective speaker or possibly a speaker protection fuse inside the unit has blown.

1. Check speaker wires for proper connection.
2. Swap left and right speakers to see if the problem follows the speaker.
3. Check for internal speaker fuse that may have blown. PLEASE proceed with caution inside the unit. With the AC cord unplugged there are still high voltages resident inside...BE CAREFUL!!

The screen on my Honeywell ChonothermIII sudenly went blank and not showing any thing.I have put new batteries but no change. Please tel my what else i can do to fix it

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. First thing to do is go to the furnace take off the lower blower door and locate the circuit board turn the power off to the furnace. In the circuit board there should ba a small car like fuse usually 3 or 5 amps check the fuse it is probably blown replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse and then turn the power back on on the furnace and check the operation of the furnace.

Wiring is correct, but the cd player itself will not turn on.

First thing to do is check whether there is power getting to the unit. First unplug the unit and use a test light to ensure the unit is getting 12v on both accessory and constant, if the power is not coming through either of these the unit will not work. If there is no power on one of these wires proceed to check both your audio fuses both in-car and under bonnet if blown replace and check unit. If unit still not working check the fuse in the rear of the unit. If the unit still fails to turn on return it to the place of purchase and get it checked.

Aftermarket Stereo connection

hi there
if you matched all the wires from the harness to the kenwood deck and its not working don't worry you just missed the last step........(all wires attached that a colour coded connected)
simply turn your car on.........now on the front of the kenwood deck there is a SOURCE button with all units it could be a (S, SRC, Power) hold the source button down till your kenwood unit powers up ..........if your unit still doesn't work check the fuse on back of kenwood unit should be a 10a fuse (blue) if the fuse is fine put the unit back in dash..........now check the fuse panel on driver side dash with the door open you will see this panel pull it off (some describe the fuse panel as looking like an air vent but its not its a handle to open) now on the panel that you just pulled off there is a fuse diagram on the inside look at it find radio fuse it will be a (blue fuse) located in the top row of fuses check it if blown replace and unit should work.............if this doesn't solve the issue than its a (sneaky) fuse not to many people know about if you pop the hood of your car there is a black plastic panel located just below the battery pins and just above the driver head light (usually black box with yellow writing on it......in this there are mini fuses check all of them do not touch the black relays in there just the small tiny fuses the fuse you will look at should be yellow 20a (this fuse is closest to engine and comes after the abs relay if you look inside the lid you took off it will have fuse locations cant remember which one it is for sure but check them..........now see if your kenwood unit powers up if not the last option is to ground to the black wire from back of kenwood unit to metal frame.............this last part is also done if your unit does power on but your car lights don't work if this happens ground the kenwood unit to the frame of car and open up fuse panel on driver side dash replace the blown fuse for lights or radio (make sure the kenwood unit is grounded to the frame before replacing the fuse in dash panel............if this doesnt help you than i would assume the kenwood deck needs to be repaired by kenwood.......
good luck
hope i was able to help and sorry this list is so long
