Question about Saeco VIA Venezia

1 Answer

Weak steam flow from milk frothing wand.

Is there a way to clean out the steaming wand? Over the last few days
it has got progressively worse. I purchased a pre-owned machine, it was ok for a few weeks > It initially spluttered out a fair amount of water with the steam, now the spluttering and pressure of steam has decreased to about 30% of what it used to be like it. Can I undertake
some sort of cleaning process or do I need to have it repaired?

Vinegar run through the steaming and frothing a couple times then clear water a couple times. Do this 4 times a year.

This is usually a sign it needs a de-scale. you can get a de-scale solution from most coffee machine retailers. Vinegar can be to harsh and ruin your seals. After frothing your milk make sure you let some steam through without milk to clear milk that can be sucked up wand. You can get cleaning instructions of Saeco web site. Good luck

Hi Mike,
You may have 2 issues.
Steam wand may be blocked;
Try descaling the machine 1st before you do any thing else.

1.Try removing the steam tip, if you don't get steam with tip removed, try removing wand, if you don't get steam then the steam pin may be blocked.

If after descaling coffee is still jst warm you could replace thermostats http://www.bluestarcoffee.eu/ascaso--boiler-thermostats-x-2-193-p.asp

If you still don't have steam after descaling and replacing thermostats then you may need to replace the o rings on steam pin.

Solis pallazo rapid steam. I can't remember how to clean the system

Descaling the Palazzo: The Palazzo is programmed to descale the boilers on its own, when set in the correct mode. You program the machine to descale it's self, do the following. With the machine turned on, push and hold the left 2 buttons (clean and pre-ground). This should light the top right red indicator light. Mix your descaling crystals in 32 to 48 oz in your water tank. Stir until they are completely dissolved in the water. Next, have a container that can handle about 2 quarts of water under the steam wand, or have the machine positioned next to a sink. Next open the steam knob on the right side of the machine. You should hear the pump turn on and pump about 2 to 3 oz's. of water through the wand into the container. The pump should turn off and there will be a wait of about 2 minutes. The pump should turn on again and more water will come out. It will do this until it has completely drained the water tank. Do not interrupt this cycle until the machine has stopped on its own. When it does stop, all lights on the bottom will flash. Rinse out the water tank and refill with fresh water. Place the water tank on the machine again, and then close, and then open the steam knob again and let the water just flow through the boilers until it is emptied by the machine. Don't turn off anything until the machine stops on its own. This will clear the descale light. Refill the water tank again with fresh water and your ready to go.

Hello, i have the ranchilio home espresso machine, sylvia. the steamer is not working on it, slowly got worse in the last two weeks and is now not working at all. this has happened before. I believe it is...

Yes it is easy to replace, but first check the end of the steam wand make sure the holes are not blocked, If you open the steam valve and the wand is hot it is because of blockage, if you only get warm water and no steam then the thermostat is gone.

Can't get steam from the a Starbucks Saeco Italila Digital Auto

Hi If you can get water to flow from the wand, you can descale the machine. You might have a bad steam boiler. There is also a fuse on the boiler that might be bad. Set your water hardness to 4 to keep the machine working for a long time. Descale more often than not enough.

No hot water or steam from wand.

If steam wand is not blocked then the problem is on the inside of the machine, try descaling the machine that might clear the blockage in the steam line.

HI
I don't think your machine is finished descaling. Follow these steps.
With the machine turned on, push and hold the left 2 buttons (clean and pre-ground). This should light the top right red indicator light. Mix your descaling crystals in 32 to 48 oz in your water tank. Stir until they are completely dissolved in the water. When it does stop, all lights on the bottom will flash. Rinse out the water tank and refill with fresh water. Place the water tank on the machine again, and then close, and then open the steam knob again and let the water just flow through the boilers until it is emptied by the machine. Don’t turn off anything until the machine stops on its own. This will clear the descale light. Refill the water tank again with fresh water and your ready to go.

Krups 867 boiler steam leak

Save yourself the trouble, buy a $1.99 frother at Ikea.  Makes the cleaning process easy - that's what I use at home, never used the steam wand on my machine.
To use the frother, just heat up the milk and froth away.  Pretty easy.
