Go the the start button>All Programs> Accessories >System Tools>Hit "Continue"....wait for the system restore screen to come up...choose the recommended restore point or choose your own, it will tell you what to do... and don't touch your computer while it is restoring.

How can I restore my computer to factory?


There is a folder called Gateway on your system and is NOT hidden. Open it and there should be a folder that contains the system restore to factory specs there.

I need recovery disk for my gateway m-6846 laptop


Recovery discs for store bought laptops are individualized. You can usually order a duplicate set from the manufacturer of your computer for $10-$20. Here is what I found:

Gateway m-6846 don't turn on neither ac adapter nor battery


1.Remove ,the battery and adopter from your machine.
2.And then press the power button form 36 Second.
3.And then refix your battery and adopter to your machine.
4.boot your system
5.if you will get the same problem again means suspected issue with main board.

WON'T CHARGE


If you have no power and the battery won't charge. There is a short in your DC jack socket. This problem is common among gateway computers. If you can solder, you might want to take the computer apart and put a new power jack in there. New power jacks costs $2. Otherwise, you should look for a new motherboard on ebay and buy it for a little over $100 and put it in yourself. Getting it professionally repaired can be very expensive and not worth it.

I have problems with charging my laptop, i'm thinking it may be the jack, can this be repaired?


It may or may not be able to be repair, depends on the level of damage. I suggest you take it to the nearest computer technician shop and have them test it.
