Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television
If this is a projection tv then the bulbs may be out in the back, double check the mirror alignment in the back that reflects the image on the screen. if neither of these is the issue you will need to take it in for service. There is most likely something wrong with the board. Did this just happen or was there a power surge? I have had my home owners insurance replace my tv for a brown out we had. when working with any item that uses electricty, please be sure to take precautions aginst electric shock, TV's and Microwaves hold a lot of current even when not plugged in.

Sound like you lost Vertical Deflection. Youshould not have a line across the screen because this could destroy the threeCRT Red, Green, and Blue (Picture tubes) if left on to long. There is a protection circuit built in to protect your CRT’s. Check on the PCB-SIGNALboard (Tuner located on this board) transistors Q-206 Collector should be around 1 Volt Base and Emitter 0V. If the voltage atthis point is greater then 5 Volts the Vertical output IC-401 (Mounted on heat sink 7 pin inline IC) is bad, Part # LA7845. Pin Voltages should be PIN 1= 0V, 2= 34V, 3= 32V, 4= 3V, 5= 3V, 6= 33v, 7= -6V. Data sheet located at http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/40357/SANYO/LA7845.html

This is a Light Engine problem. Call a good TV Tech and explain the problem. These can be rebuilt for around $450. New ones are $800 to $1200.
