I just purchased an Acer X1300 computer with Windows Vista.I do not have info on how to activate the sound.

The aspire Acer Aspire x1300 does not come standard with wireless. If you have added wireless capabilities, your hardware should have come with a disk containing drivers for your wireless device. If it didn't I would look up the manufacture's site and find the support or drivers download page.

You can clear the password with a program like active@ password changer. It is a bootable cd that will allow you to clear a windows user password. You can purchase it from their website at www.password-changer.com If you forgot a BIOS password, then you will have to sent it to Acer to have it cleared. They charge $100 for this service in Canada.

if your pc come with the wireless device, then you need to find the compatible driver to make it work

First thing to try, is to do a system restore. You can go back to an earlier time. Pick the lastest time right before you installed the updates. System restore should be found in the Control Panel.

If you have no support discs & did not make a recoverty disc then you will have to contact the retailer you purchased the laptop from or Acer themselves. You should have documentation that will detail your product key though without this you may have issues getting the genuine copy of vista reinstalled. An alternative would be to buy a copy of windows 7 (if your laptop can take it) as it is far more stable & streamlined than Vista. or get a genuine copy of XP for cheaper.

Its probably also a good idea to take it back to the local computer guy & demand he reinstalls vista or gives you a genuine copy of XP. You can report him to the police for distributing illegal software too.

The problem is when Vista was installed on the old pc it only recognizes that pc so you will need to buy a copy of Vista and install it on the new pc. And if you don't want to loose your info you can buy a ide/sata to usb cable and hook it up to your new pc to transfer your old info across. Hope this helps.
