LDF 7811 bottom sprayer not working - suspect diverter valve

I have a LDF7811 approx 4yrs old. The bottom sprayer does not work, in fact it will not move even though the upper two sprayers do spin and spray. I have tested this in several settings - half load bottom, rinse cycles full cycles and let them run such that there is ample time for the sprayers to alternate though it never happens. I removed the filter housing and internal molding to expose the diverter valve, my hunch is that it must be that the valve is defective, or the control for it is no longer working. If a sensor is used as part of the feedback loop it certainly could be that. I didn't notice any debris or abnormal build up under the filter. Any advice is appreciated. If the diverter is defective what are my options for getting a replacement part and is there a service manual available that outlines common disassembly and assembly repairs? Thanks SJ

UPDATE: I ordered the vario motor suggested - blindly I might add, meaning I didn't pull the dishwasher out to verify the part number. I installed the new motor and the dishwasher is back in working order. It seems odd to me that something small and with few moving parts would wear out so quickly. Getting at the part though it requires removing the entire dishwasher and flipping it upside down was really easy, 2 screws to remove the bottom panel cover, 2 screws to remove and replace the vario motor. Time to repair was approx 2hrs but that included some re-routing of the power and water supply since the original installer did a hack job.

    Thanks for the advice,

The vario motor that attaches to the check valve can be accessed by pulling the unit and turning the entire DW over on its top.

This thing is not light and please be careful.

Remove the entire (black) base support assembly so you can see all the motors, etc.

Here is an example source for the vario motor

Please report back what you end up doing, OK?

    Hi Eric,
I am glad you got the motor replaces and the DW is working again. I realize this is late, but could you take a moment to provide a thumbs up/down for my help?

Bottom rack of dishes don't come out clean, top rack is good. is this a possible spray bar problem

You may have a stuck diverter valve inside the sump assembly. Only way to tell is to disassemble the top section of the sump assembly to see if there is any debris blocking it. You will need a technician to help you with this. Good luck

Leaking water through the door bottom left about 6 inchs from side approx 3 tablespoons of water . drying puts heat out in same area causing tile to condensate

The bottom of the door is NOT ACTUALLY SEALED. if you use the wrong or too much soap this can happen. Unit level is important.

Dishes stay greasy

On this LG LDF7811 dishwasher, are you getting any error coded in the display?

If no, buy a small box of name brand dishwasher detergent powder (like cascade or electrosol) and use it for two loads, but do not over fill the soap dispenser cup.

If problems continue, it is time to clean everything under and in the filter assembly that is below the lower spray arm (silver phillips screws.) Search for any debris.

Please report back what you find, and we can take the next step, OK?

Delta Faucet (Series 2467) Sprayer doesn't work

Yes, the diverter assembly is probably corroded or clogged shut. Garunteed its the problem on a 10 year old delta kitchn faucet. The diverter routes water from the spout to the sprayer when the sprayer is triggered.

Upper rack sprayers not working on LG ldf7811 dish washer

Check the pump out. Even though the Hose is and tubes are clear it does not necessarily mean that the pump is not pumping water to the top sprayer. One way you can do this is take off the upper spray tube and lay it in a glass or bowl and turn on your machine for a minute or so to get the water flowing if it flows then I would take off the spray assembly itself and make sure that there is no blockage on the bearing race

LG dishwasher doesn't heat water

I had the same issue with my LDF7811 about 2 years into its life. I replaced the heating element and that took care of it. Not a terribly difficult job, but it will require removal of the dishwasher and dismantling it from the underneath.

Dirty dishes on lower rack

Please confirm that you own an LG LDF7811 dishwasher and it is not cleaning properly.
-Are you getting any error codes displayed? -Did you remove the mesh filter and clean any debris beneath it plus rinse out the filter itself?
-Are you using a name brand diswashing powder? Avoid ultra-cheap detergent, especially in water-conserving units like the LG 7811. Never use DW gel or tablets in any dishwasher.
-Do not over rinse the dishes before placing them in the DW. The food granules actually are used to clean all the dishes before being rinsed away.
Please try these suggestions and reply to this message with what worked best and if the problem continues. Good Luck!

LG dishwasher wont clean top rack dishes

If the unit is cleaning the bottom dishes normally, try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes to reset the control board.  If that doesn't work, then the control board needs to be replaced.  The problem is that control board is not diverting the water to the upper wash arm during the cycle.  Possibly a program problem
