thats what i am thinking. i had 2 things that could have gone wrong. the last time i shut my computer down my computer downloaded and or installed 10 updates. as soon as they said done i closed the laptop and put it in a medium padded case and then inside my book bag. i then went to my car and tossed my bag in the back seat and my bag rolled out and hit the drive way.

Have a tech look it over, it could be a more serious issue that requires reloading Windows from scratch.

1)try tapping F8 while windows is bootin

2)you will get the boot options

3) select " dont restart windows on failure"

4) it should not restart and it must work fine

if there is any hardware recntly removed you will get this error message

Else try selecting safe mode and uninstall recent drivers and programs

Insert the Windows OS CD/DVD - boot from the CD/DVD like your going to install the Operating System Again - Select the Option to repair the version of Windows it finds.
Afterward - you may have to reinstall some software as some registry info will be lost. - All Data will remain local.

blue screen errors are a bad sign. You probably have a virus or a corrupted hard drive. Depending on your computer expertise, I recommend either re-formatting your hard drive (you will lose everything), or purchasing a new computer.

Acer is going straight to a black screen after the acer logo in startup....it just shows a tiny blinking line. It goes no farther. I need help fast

Apparently your Acer cannot find the operating system. As soon as the Acer logo comes up, there should appear in one of the bottom corners "F" & a number should appear. Immediately start pressing that F number (top row of keyboard). This should take you to a boot screen. Scroll down to boot sequence. Hit enter. Make sure boot-up sequence is CD or floppy drive first, second should be HDD, then escape. Restart computer. Should then boot off CD drive. I am assuming you have an operating system (XP, windows, etc.). Let me know if this doesn't work.

Hi...i'm trying to boot my comp however it doesnt seem to want to get past the microsoft corporation loading screen....d2d doesnt seem to work either

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.
Step 6: your PC will boot to the windows.

Might be something wrong with your display settings. Between the Acer logo and Microsoft logo, try pressing F8 about twice per second. A menu appears. Use the arrow keys and choose the one with "VGA-mode" using the enter-key. Wait while the computer boots. Set a compatible display resolution for your display.
