My suggestion is change your password/security key.

http://192.168.0.1/

Then log into your router, username: superuser or admin password: password

That is the default, if you change it, I can't help you there and you would have to talk to your internet provider to change it for you.

Then there should be something like "wireless setting" check your options and it should ask for something like "SSID". If your on something that says that your on the right page. Find something like "Security Encryption" and change your password to something you will remember.

By doing this your visitor should be able to connect your encrypted wifi. But also doing this you might need to reconfig your laptop/desktop to the new setting.

If your using Vista:

Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Network > Highlight your Wireless connection ( Select Remove) > Add > Then go through the process of finding your wireless connection and you magically got back your protected wireless again on both laptops.

Hope this helps you.

Find ssid number for linksys model wrt54g

SID broadcast allows computers to quickly locate a new network and connect to it. In wireless home networks computers often use only the home network, which makes SSID broadcast unnecessary. Disabling SSID broadcast adds a bit of security to your wireless network, because computers won't be able to see your network's SSID.
Log into the router.
  1. Open your webbrowser and type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This is the default IP address of the browser.
  2. Type your login info in the login screen. Default: 'admin' (without quotes) in both fields.
  3. Go to Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings 'wireless
  4. Set SSID broadcast to 'disable'.
  5. Click Save Settings.
On the next page you will set a router password to prevent unwanted visitors from accessing your router setup.

Error Code 51331

Error Code: 51331 Was this information helpful?

Unable to connect to your wireless network

Likely cause: It appears that the security settings entered into the Wii console are not the same as what your wireless router is set to allow.

How to fix: Make sure the security key and security type are entered into the Wii exactly as they appear in your router's settings.

Additional information:

  • Using an Actiontec or 2Wire router? The default security key is often found on a sticker located on the router.
  • Security keys are case-sensitive.
  • WEP keys contain numbers 0 through 9, and only letters A through F.

Other suggestions:

  • Did this connection used to work but has suddenly stopped? "Power cycle" your router and modem. To do this, unplug both the modem and the router from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug in the router. Try to connect the Wii, Nintendo DS, or Nintendo 3DS online and test for proper response.

What is error # 51330

Error Code: 51330
Unable to connect to your wireless network

  • The Wii may have detected and set itself to the wrong security type during the initial connection set up. Try creating a new connection file and going through the connection process again (steps), but be sure that when the Wii asks for a security code, the type shown on screen (WEP or WPA) is what your router is set to. If it is different, try a "Manual Setup."

I want to install my wii to my internet. I have a Belkin Router. I need a Security Key or password to get my wii onto my internet. What is the Security Key or password?

the security key is your wep key you can get this buy going on the router itself. Follow this trouble shooting guide and if you need help or it still doesnt work follow up with a comment and i will assist you further. Please try the following troubleshooting: Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into the router using the default IP (consult your router's manual for assistance) Locate the "wireless security" section of your router settings and find the WEP or WPA key. If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 10-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, the WEP Key must be a 26-character key consisting of numbers or letters A through F. The WEP Key must be a Hexadecimal (0-9, A-F, no other special characters or letters). If your router has multiple slots for a WEP Key, make sure the active key is the one in the #1 slot. If you are using WPA, the Wii console is compatible with the following types: WPA - PSK (TKIP) WPA - PSK (AES) WPA2 - PSK (AES)
If your WEP or WPA key is correct, then the problem might be related to MAC address filtering: From the router settings, locate the "MAC address filter" settings (also known as "access control", "access list", or "network filter" depending on your router model). If the Mac address filter is set to "enabled", then you must add the Wii's MAC address to the "allowed" list. You can locate the Wii's MAC address from the "console information" page (located under "Internet" in the Wii Settings). If the Mac address filter was disabled, then continue troubleshooting.

Check Nintendo's router info for special notes, if available, for your router. Click here to go to our Wireless Router lookup page. Use the drop-down box to select, if available, your router manufacturer. Click on your router's model number, if available. Read any "special notes" at the top of the router's page. Many issues can be solved by changing settings described in the "special notes."

Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's IP configuration settings. To access these settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.

Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. if you require further assistance please let me know and i will be glad to assist you. -Midwest-tek

EROR CODE 52031 ON NINTENDO WII

Hi,If you’re using WEP or WPA for your router’s security, log into your router by typing its IP address in your internet browser and make sure your WEP or WPA key entered in the Wii matches the key in the wireless router. The WEP Key can only use characters 0-9 and A-F. If your router allows more than one WEP Key to be entered, make sure the key in slot #1 is the active key. The Wii can only use the key in slot 1.If you entered the correct key, then check to see if MAC filtering is enabled in the “access control, access list, or network filter” section of the wireless router. If MAC filtering is enabled, you will need to enter the Wii’s MAC address into the “allowed” list for MAC addresses.
If none of these were the problem and your connection used to work, try power cycling both the router and modem by unplugging both from the wall. Wait a couple of minutes before plugging the modem back in. Wait another couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then plug the router back in and wait until the router initializes.
Ensure that your wireless router has the latest firmware installed. You will need to go the router manufacturer’s website to download the firmware.
If Wii Error Code 52031 is still a problem, try changing the broadcast channel of the wireless router to 1 or 11. This can help increase download speed.
You an also try manually entering the Wii’s internet settings. You will need to first get the network configurations from your PC.
On your PC, click “Start” and then “Run.”
Type “CMD” into the field that appears to open a new window.
Type “IPCONFIG/ALL” and press “Enter” to display a list of internet settings. Locate the settings asked for by the Wii console during the Manual Setup process and enter them.
Good luck

AT&T2wire gateway wireless modem -dsl connection

Generally speaking, a user would find the SSID you configured for your wireless network in their available networks list. Then, they'd connect to it using whatever application they use.

If you've configured security for your network, they will need the key you configured to secure your network with in order to connect.

Hope this helps!

No access for other laptops on my wireless router

You need to access the router's setup page using a computer that has Internet connection through the router. To do that, launch IE from that computer and type 192.168.2.1. It will then asks for a username/password. Try leaving the username and password blank. If that doesn't work, try admin for username and leave the password blank.

It will then open your router's setup page. Just click on wireless tab on the left panel and then click security. There you can set security mode to disable.

Hope this helps!

How do you find the net key

Yes, you will have to log into your router's web based settings utility and bring up the tab labeled security or wireless security. It should be listed there. To log into the router, in an open internet explorer window type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. This should open a window requesting username and password. If you haven't changed these settings both should be "admin". First page that opens usually is the basic settings of the router. You will have to click on the tab labeled security or wireless security. Passphrase should be there.

Good Luck
