How do I get inside the fuel tank of my poulan 1950 to replace the line in it?

To replace line you use tag wire or similar item to pull the fuel line through the tank fittings.
First you install tag wire through the tank fuel line open and out the fill hole. Then attach this tag wire to the fuel line and pull the line back through the fuel line opening. You do this for both the pickup and the return lines. Mark your return line about an inch from the end so you can install it at the proper placement. As pull this return line through the fuel line opening stop when you reach the mark. Now with both lines installed cut them to desired lengths to connect to the carburetor and the primer.
Here is a picture of how connect the tag wire to the fuel line.

Change the fuel filter in a poulan 38-cc

It depends on how yours is set up, but you have to hook the fuel line with a piece of wire and pull it out the fuel cap side. If there's not enough line to do that, then you have to unhook it from the carb and pull the line through with a small pair of needle nose pliers.

Fuel filter?

Yes it has fuel filter,It's inside the tank at the end of fuel line. You'll need to fish it out using a small wire with a hook bend on the end.Be careful of the fuel line it could be brittle if it is older.Once you get the filter out I would replace it,I haven't had good luck cleaning them also if that line is on the stiff side now would also be a good time to replace it also.

I have a craftsman convertiable, 32 cc line trimmer that will not stay started. have tried everything. serial number 9mtds0324sooc

My work and research show that most problems of this type are fuel system related. There is no "miracle" cure to keep the 32cc engine running. Many different things come into play here. The most common problem is dried out parts inside the carburetor. There is a small gasket and diaphragm kit to cure this however.
Your fuel system must be fairly new and with a clean fuel filter inside the fuel tank. The old fuel lines tend to become brittle and flakes of them break off and enter the carb. They get lodged on a very small screen filter that allows fuel to flow thru the carb.If fuel lines are old or brittle, replace them.
Another problem is that the carb has gone "out" of adjustment or never was adjusted correctly in the first place (not uncommon). With new, stringent EPA and CARB laws and regs, the manufacturers of these carbs set them to run very "lean". This means a lot of air and very little fuel. The problem here being that the lubricant for the engine (in this case) is IN the fuel.
Check the condition and color of the spark plug. It will tell you how the engine is performing. Clean the black carbon off of it and reinstall, or just put a new one in.
So brittle fuel lines, old, stale fuel, clogged up screen strainers inside carb, weak spark and misadjusted carbs can ALL contribute to your machine's problem. It is NOT rocket science but some standard diagnostics and testing is required to narrow down exactly what the problem is. Take a look at the things I have mentioned and remember, I have no idea how OLD or in what mechanical condition your machine is (even though I own one just like it). Post back as needed.

Weedeater enign will not start.I you put gas in carb it will start for a second in then it will kill.It is a ryobi ry30550

You probably have a fuel/carburetor problem. You will need to inspect the condition of the entire fuel system. Start at the fuel tank with the fuel filter in the tank.It should be fairly clean and still attatched to the end of the fuel line. Check for stray debris inside the tank. Then inspect the fuel line in the tank. Next, check the condition off all the outside fuel lines. They should be soft and not be brittle with cracks. Next up is the carburetor itself. There is a filter screen inside one of the 2 covers that can get clogged with dirt/debris. It is located under the cover that does not have the small vent hole. The diaghragms and gaskets on and in the carburetor need to be checked. They too should be soft and not brittle. Brittleness is caused by the gas evaporating and also the presence of ethanol in our gas now adds to this problem. Repair kits for the carburetor are available and are much less expensive than the price of a replacement carburetor. Many dealers online sell these kits, but you need to know the manufacturer and model number of your carburetor to get the correct repair kit. Ebay dealers have a lot of these carb kits available.

Fuel lines inside of tank fell off

This is the typical fuel line routing2.gif on many models: One line ( the one with the fuel filter in the end of it) comes out of the fuel tank2.gif and goes to the lower port on the carburator. The second line goes from the fuel tank to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb. The third section goes from the top port on the primer bulb to the top port on the carburator. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Need diagram on fuel lines on a 26 cc craftsman weed eater

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter of the two fuel lines, goes from the carburetor to the bottom of the tank. Leave enough slack in this line so that the filter that attaches to the end will rest comfortably at the bottom of the tank.

The other fuel line goes from the primer bulb to just inside the tank, (about an inch). make sure that you get the right size fuel lines. The plastic coupling goes on the end of this line, inside the tank. This keeps the line from pulling out of the tank.

(HINT): When feeding the lines through the tank holes, cut the lines at an angle. They will feed much easier into the holes. You can than cut them off square, once you know that you have enough to work with.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Craftsman 25 cc weedeater keeps shuting off, was running fine

Probably fuel line into tank has hole in it, If over 5 years old these fuel lines become brittle and break easy. Go to local hardware or repair shop that has small engine parts and you should find the fuel lines. Be sure to take sample with you as there are many sizes. If you have trouble installing them get back to me. Be sure you know how the lines are routed before removing.
