Question about GE Refrigerators
I saw the post about the control board. I thought I saw a small dark spot on a component on the board. I touched a hewat sink next to it and felt an electric current. Do you think that's it? How do you check the compressor relay? Need a solution fast!!! thanks
Cool, Sounds like a loose connection or a weak solder point on the board. Did you wiggle that heat sink or a connector. Just make sure all the connectors are firmly in place and not loose, especially the ones that provide power to the compressor. Board may have to be replace if a component is loose...or you can try to resolder if your comfortable doing that kind of stuff.

Testimonial: "I just loosened the board from the top two mount pins. It's running now, so I'll wait until morning to take it all the way out and try to solder it."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
