Re: dvd player region code

Most DVD players in Malaysia and Thailand, even bought from large stores are modified to play all regions. Probably true for most other Far East countries. Have a holiday out here or get a friend to bring one back. Alternatively buy an unlocked player from

Re: dvd player region code

You can have them converted (some places do it for a charge) or they can be played on a computer with a compatable DVD ROM and windows media player.

How do i change my region code back?

There are three options you can try: 1. download the DVD drive's firmware from the manufacturer and re-flash the drive's firmware, this will reset any region code in 99% of all DVD drives. 2. you can use software that, in realtime as you play the videos back, removes region code out of the file transfer stream from DVD to playback software. The best software to do this that I know of is called "AnyDVD". 3. use region free DVD playback software like VLC, which is freeware. The first option is the riskiest, if something fails while flashing the firmware, it could disable the drive, but it is 100% FREE. The second option involves buying software and making sure its running before watching any DVD's in the future. The third option is probably the safest, cheapest, and simplest for you. The DVD drive is not going to prevent playback of a region 1 or 2 movie if its set to region 4, its the playback software that makes this decision. If you rely on commercial DVD playback software or Windows Media Player, they will not allow the playback. VLC is region free, it doesn't even check the region the DVD was produced for.

I have a sumsung dvd-L300 portable player. Do I need a converter or transformer to use it in Europe?

I think so, DVD region codes are a DRM scheme. DVD videodiscs may be encoded with a region code restricting the area of theworld in which they can be played.

Thecommercial DVD player specification requires that a player to be soldin a given place not play discs encoded for a different region (region0 discs are not restricted).

so if you want to making the DVD region free, watch and copy multi region-coded DVD on any DVD player and any DVDplayer software, back up protected DVD to computer and convert DVDMovie to play on iPod iPhone PSP, et portable players, you have toremove DVD region code.

Here we have one great software "Daniusoft DVD Ripper"which can remove region code from any DVD. Not just remove DVD regioncode and copy DVD to computer with 1:1 lossless quality, Daniusoft DVDRipperis also capable of converting DVD Movie to other Video auidoformat to play on portable players like iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP,Blackberry, etc.

Cannot play my dvd,s in my geoghraphic region of the world.

There are a couple ways to go about changing your region on your DVD player. First is this program:
DVD Region+CSS Free - Watch & Copy Any DVD!
US$ 39.95

dvd-region-free-b.gif Tell Friend
DVD Region+CSS Free enables you to watch and copy any region-coded/CSS-encrypted DVD movies on any DVD drive! It fully supports region-protected (RPC2) DVD drives, and does not require any firmware modifications. It will even work if you have used up your region counter and can no longer change the DVD drive's region.

DVD Region+CSS Free works automatically in the background to make a DVD appear region code free and unprotected to any DVD player and DVD copy software. With the help of DVD Region+CSS Free, you can watch any region coded DVD movies with a software DVD player like PowerDVD or WinDVD! With DVD Region+CSS Free's help, DVD copy software (such as DVDFab, DVD X Copy, InterVideo DVD Copy, etc.) is able to copy DVD's which are CSS protected!

New Feature: DVD Region+CSS Free decrypts not just DVD's, it now allows you also to play, copy and rip protected Audio CD's!
Download DVD Region+CSS Free

SECONDLY, You can enter a code on the player that will set it to a certain region. You can find your code at this website:
If it is not on this list, you can also try this site for more codes:

This site will give you instructions on how to enter the hack code depending on your brand name player:

JVC XV-N212 DVD player - unlocking region code

It is not a permanent hack, you will have to to it over for every movie you put in.

1. When "REGION CODE ERROR" shows on screen after you've input your wrong-region DVD you push "ON SCREEN".

2. When the DVD-menu is showing push "ON SCREEN" again and another DVD-menu will appear.

3. Move the arrow over to the clock and press enter. The menu asks for "TIME" and you write 0:00:00 and push enter.

4. You will now see the menu for the movie. Remove the DVD-menu by pushing "ON SCREEN" once. You can now watch the movie.

Don't think theres a pernament one for this player yet but i'll try and post it on here if i ever find one. Sorry.

I bought a DVD and I played it on my laptop. It worked on the laptop but when i put it into the DVD player it wouldn't play. So I tryed playing the DVD in the PC and it also worked on there. Again I...

DVD movies have region codes, and they typically only play on a player or DVD-ROM drive sold in the country where the DVD movie was sold.

The actual region code is in one byte on the DVD (digital versatile disc). The DVD player or drive has a region code in its firmware. Personal computer DVD-ROM players often have the code in the software or MPEG-2 decoder. The two codes must match for the player or drive to play the movie. The code is also printed on the back of a DVD package, superimposed on a small image of the globe.

DVD regional locking is used to control which DVD movies play in which countries or groups of countries. Movies are often released on different dates around the world. Region 1 has its own player that will only play Region 1 discs. Likewise, Region 2 players can only play Region 2 discs and not play any of Region 1's discs. The six codes are:
  1. United States and Canada
  2. Europe and Japan
  3. Southeast Asia
  4. Latin America and Australia
  5. Russia, rest of Asia and Africa
  6. China
please check the DVD region code again and what PLAYER u are using to play on PC / LAPTOP??

where did you buy the DVD player??

Regarding codes

hi janak911, Region coding is how Hollywood studios stagger dvd movie releases across the planet. These codes ensure that one country doesn't get a DVD movie before the same movie is out in that country's theatres. In their corporate omniscience, movie studios have carved the planet into regions with each region having a specific code.

All DVD players and discs have region codes. A DVD player and disc must be of the same region or the disc will not play.

If you want to watch movies from other countries, you need a multiregion DVD player. This will allow you to play any disc from any region. However, because TV standards differ, you might need a specialized NTSC/SECAM/PAL TV or a DVD player that can output any signal to the standard your TV accepts.hope u get the point.have a nice time.
