Need to remove the bottom front panel of the 90 series kenmore gas dryer to clean excess lint. My repairman last time showed me and said it was easy but I can't remember how. I'm affraid I'm going to break something.

Thanks. I don't know if mine is different, but I had to push down hard after I pried the top loose a bit to get it to give way. Maybe it was because this was the first time the cover has been removed since the clips were changed.

Just get a 2" inch putty knife and slide it between the crack between the machine and the cover. Pry it up with the putty knife to release the cover. Work your way along the cover until it's free.

How do I remove front panel of kenmore 90 series dryer to check for lint build up

Unplug your dryer first, of course. For the lower front access panel there are two screws near the very bottom of the panel. Take off the duct assembly by removing those two screws and a third one at the very bottom of the duct assembly where the bracket is attached. That should do it! Hope this helps!

Kenmore gas dryer no heat . 90 series model 110.70902990 have power, did vacum lint from access panel@ FRONT

unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter, take off the bottom panel and remove the duct that the lint filter slides into, clean the duct out, while you have the duct off on top and to the right of the blower wheel housing you'll see a 3390719 thermal fuse, remove one of the wires and check it with your meter to see if it's good, most of the time if the dryer hasn't been cleaned out the fuse will blow, the dryer runs to hot and the fuse is a safety so you don't have a fire and so the dryer doesn't run hotter than it should. vac out the inside of dryer and if you have a shop vac it blows on the other side, blow off the motor and blow the lint from the back forwards so you don't have to remove the drum, next you have to clean out the vent line,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside flapper i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, you should clean the dryer once a year,if the fuse is good you need to check with your meter the ignitor, the sensor and the gas coils to see what's bad,if you need anymore help let me know, good luck, when you're reading anything out with the meter make sure you remove at least one of the wires or you'll get a false reading

A PEN WENT DOWN THE LINT TRAP AND NOW THE DRYER WONT TURN ON. KENMORE GAS DRYER

can you move the drum by hand?if not the pen is jammed in the blower wheel stopping the motor from turning,if the filter is on top you'll need to remove the filter, take out the 2 screws in front of the filter now make sure the dryer is on a flex line so you can pull it forward to remove the lint filter and then remove the back panel, now you need to remove the 4 screws holding the duct on that the filter slides into and remove the pen and any lint that's in the duct,if the filter is inside remove the bottom panel, remove the filter and take off the duct and clean it out, next time send model number

Hello, i'va a kenmore gas drier model 75818,the problem is that it does not heat up at all, have checked the ignitor and momentarely glows but after loud clicking sound it turns off,any ideas?,thanks, ray.

next time send the full model number, starts with 110. or similar,i would change out the gas coils located on top of gas valve, do one at a time and look for a metal spacer that needs to stay on post, sometime it slides off when you remove the coil, only on one of the coils, also if you haven't cleaned out the dryer it would be a good idea to do so, unplug dryer,if lint filter is on top remove the filter and the two screws in front of filter, remove the vent line if it's a long run blow it out with a leaf blower or shop vac but leaf blower works better, take off back wall and take out the four screws that hold the duct in that the filter slides into, clean out the duct, put it back together except for the two screws on top,now pop the top and remove the front panel and vac out the inside,if you have a shop vac blow out the dryer motor and all,if filter is inside remove the bottom panel take out the lint filter and remove the duct the filter slides into and clean it out,if you have a shop vac blow the lint from the back to the front so you don't have to pull the drum, blow out the vent line, you should do this once a year you have an open flame in there and you don't need a fire, your dryer will run better and last longer

Have Kenmore 90 series elec. dryer...will start, but then cuts off and doesn't dry clothes. Trying to clean the lint out of it. We've taken all the screws out of the back, but can't get the back off!...

Hi-I just cleaned out mine. You take off the clamp that holds the exhaust duct from the bottom of the back of the dryer and you will be able to vacuum it out. Then you can remove the kickplate on the front of the dryer by lifting it hard and pull the top of it out. Then you can remove the lint trap holder once inside by unscrewing it, remove it and clean it out(take out the lint filter first). I vacuumed out the inside of the exposed bottom gently cause it was so full lint! Hope this helps!

Dryer heat up and the laundry get dry but smell

It sounds like there is either a gas leak inside the dryer after the gas control solenoid causing a gas odor when dryer burner is on or the burner is restricted due to lint causing aldehydes(unburned gas). You will first need to inspect the burner flame while the dryer is in operation. Sometimes there is a small plastic cover at the bottom of the dryer that you can remove to inspect the flame. Or you will need to remove the bottom panel of the dryer. If there is no removable panel then you might need to remove the back panel. The flame should look very blue. If it looks soft and yellow(red is ok) then the burner and/or orfice is probably restricted with lint. You will need to first clean out the burner compartment of any excessive lint. Then use compressed air to clear out the burner assembly. If the burner looks ok then you will need to inspect for a possible gas leak. Now I cannot stress this enough if you do not know what you are doing and are not careful you could hurt yourself. So do not attempt to make any repairs to a gas appliance if you are not sure how to do it because there is a chance of explosion or a fire. Now if you are going to check for a leak you will need to mix some dish soap and water in a bowl. Then use the sudsy mixture on the pipes after the solenoid valve at the connections and watch for any bubbles. Do not use any water on the electrical components or you might short out your dryer. If a leak is found then repair the pipe fitting. If you cannot locate the gas leak then leave the gas valve off to the dryer and call an appliance repairman or you local gas company.

My Kenmore Series 90 dryer won't run as it appears the door does not hit the actuator. It would appear either the door has moved to a lower position or the actuator has moved up into the dryer. May I ask...

The door switch or actuator is broken. A common problem. On most Kenmore dryers this is replace by lifting the top. Since you haven't given the whole model number I will discuss raising the top on the most common model.

If your model has a lint filter at the top the slide show below should show you how to raise the top.

Kenmore Dryer

Disconnect power to unit. Lift the cover from the lint filter or if yours is the one with a filter and cover together, remove the whole filter. You will see 2 screws under the cover/filter, remove them. Now, you will need a putty knife or a thin shafted straight screw driver to remove the top panel. Push the putty knife or screw driver to "pop" the front top clips. The top panel will hinge back towards the wall and can be left there. Just inside the top of the front panel, you will see 2 screws, remove them. You will see the wires for the door switch on the right side. *** the top of the front panel toward you to gain access to the switch for replacement.

Reverse process for reassembly. Good Luck

Kenmore gas dryer. 70 series

sound slike something fell down there and is jamming the blower from turning. if the filter is ontop of the unit, remove the 2 phillips located under where the filter pulls out from. and the n remove all the screws on back panel youll see ( down the left side of unit ) the filter houosing, its secured by 3 5/16 screws toward the bottom portion of the housing, simply unscrerw and wiggle out, then remove the debris, and reassemble.
if the lint screen is located inside behind door, eitehr remove the bottom accesss panel or pop the top(with a screw driver approx 3 inches in from ither side of main top relaes the clips) the lid tips back revealing 2 screws holding front panel to the unit, after removing you will see the filter housing, still mounted by probalby 3-4 screws, remove the housing and retrieve the debris that has fallen down there
