Question about Air Tools & Compressors

1 Answer

Pond aerator has stopped pushing adequate air through the diffusers. After 7 years of satisfactory air output, compressor stopped pushing air through 15 ft deep diffuser and only pushes about 1/2 volume through 6 ft deep diffuser. When I blow air through the diffuser hoses with a nozzle from a tool air compressor there is a huge volume of bubbles, so I don't think diffusers are clogged with vegetation or mud. I pulled up the shallow diffuser and it was clean. When I turn the compressor off and then back on there is a larger volume of air for a few hours in the shallow diffuser but it dissipates in time. Is air leaking from the compressor ? What can I check to see if compressor is shot?d

If the compressor is a diaphram type, the diaphram is likely bad. Replace the diaphram.

My aerator is running but no airflow in pond

Check your hoses as they could be kinked or plugged. take them off the air pump and blow through them and see what happens. See if air comes out of pump when you remove the lines. Could be air pump is not working right.

Is there a compatable sand blast kit for porter compressor?

Hi Rebecca:
Most sandblast kits are "stand alone" in that they just need an adequate air supply. This can vary hugely depending on the work intended. The volume of the storage tank, compressor output volume, and pressure available are the variables to be considered.
A small volume home hobby would require far less than a commercial facility.
Hope this helps.

What kind of oil for kobalt 221565 60 gallon

ordinary engine oil 10/30 or 16 oz synthetic oil ( lowes)
There are compressor oils on the market but as the most it has to do is lubricate the bearings and cylinders , engine oil is quite sufficient to do the job as it has all the additives needed to reduce wear , rust and inhibit moisture from the air compression
if it runs 12 hours a day 7 days a week then there will be a service schedule that you should be aware of but if it is just a home operation then every year or two would be adequate for a service

Whats the benifit of an oil less air compressor

Oil free compressors are used when oil could contaminate food products, or maybe spraying where oil down the line would ruin a spray job, although adequate filtration to stop the oil getting to point of use

How to replace light globe in Chateau Grange rangehood

I have a 600mm Chateau range hood with the same problem. To access the globe chamber, you need to first remove the plastic diffuser from the underside of the rangehood. Located at one end of the diffuser will be a small slot approx 10 mm long. Insert a small flat blade screwdriver into this slot and carefully depress the plastic tongue of the diffuser by gently pushing the head of the screwdriver away from the diffuser. As the tongue disengages from the frame you should be able to grasp the edge of the diffuser and pull it away from the frame. Once the diffuser has been removed from the frame, you will be able to change the globe.
To reinstall the diffuser, insert the plain end of the diffuser into the frame of the the rangehood (above the globe) and gently push the clip end back to its flush position.

Installing an air pump in a 5000 litre tank

The pump must be mounted nearest the 5000 liter tank. The air intake will be the air sorrounding the area, while the discharge low pressure air must be pipe to underwater level such that the air discharge of the air pump bubble up the water (aerate the water) inside the tank. This is common in fish pond/ shrimps pond/ and water treatment plants. Electrical wiring is
standard for the electric motor and controls.

Aerate a pond

I live near Memphis TN so don't have that pesky "frozen water" problem. However, I do aerate my 2,500 gal goldfish pond with a Oase Biosys Skimmer (free standing/ floating skimmer) which is powered by a Laguna fountain pump. I attached a small pipe on the discharge end of the pump & set the pump so that this pipe is a few inches below the water's surface. The discharge provides a small fountain effect that keeps the surface moving while aerating the water. The skimmer keeps the leaves / debris off the top of the water the pump keeps the water moving...and moving water will not freeze. Hope this helps
