I just bought a pickup with one of these..faceplate is missing, but according to a review it's only good as a driver distraction....anybody got a pin-out? No DRM so probably not a dongle, I'd rather make my own than buy a driving hazard...hate the ones with flashy bs on lcd....but this does have memory slots which is worth checking out...

Radio stations wont store once key is taken out

if the unit only looses radio station presets then there is a defect with the unit. if the unit looses all its memory, (clock, stations, settings) then there is an issues with your aux power. basically you have the main power connect properly so it turns on the unit while the cars is on but the aux power keeps those settings.

On my vrcd500-sdu the radio stations won't stay stored once the car/radio is turned off...what do I do so they stay stored?

If the car is a peugeot, renault, vw, audi, fiat. Chances are the lives just need to be swapped into the radio. Lives on a radio are red and yellow. on some makes of cars these are the opposite way round. so join yellow to red and red to yellow. this will solve the memory storage problem.

VRCD500-SDU losing settings at sub freezing temps

You've either got:

An inermittent in the battery (+) wire (the one that is always supposed to be hot)

or

You need to pull the connectors out of the back of the unit and firmly re-seat them back in there.

No sound. Tried all solutions posted.

Are you using the speaker outputs? If you are using the rca pre-outs for an amplifier they are mislabeled. The subwoofer out is labeled as the front output and it is off when shipped. Connect to rca out labeled as the sub and you should get sound. The sub out can be turned on from the front panel by pressing and holding the "band/sub" button. The flashing light intended to mimic an alarm, it has no other purpose.
