Re: spearkers are not working

If Unit turns on then shuts off ater a few seconds. Dc protect circuit is probably activating due to shorted output transistors. This is very common on Denons. Unless you are a Qualified technician I dont recommend doing this yourself since when outputs short it usually opens up emitter resistors and shorts pre-amp driver transistors also. Not a easy fix for someone who does not do it for a living. I would charge around $125 to $150 for this repair at My shop
You may have had to low of Speaker Impedance Probably on the Front ch's or unit just got to hot and amp failed.

Maybe this is just a fuse.

Re: spearkers are not working

Sounds like you may have blown the amplifier output stages. If it won't turn on with the speakers disconnected, it's definitely faulty. Will need expert repair.

My dennon reciever will not turn on

Check if there is a fuse on this unit. Very likely there is and it may have blown and in that event it will not switch on.

Sounds like the automatic circuit protection. Check to make sure you have good speakers and NO shorted wires to them. Too many spearkers conected to the outputs will cause the same problem.

it sounds as if your using HDMI out of the DVR to the TV which is fine but the better way to do this is to use the Component connections (red, Green, Blue) plus optical or coaxial from the DVR to the reciever and Component connections (red, Green, Blue) out of the reciever to the tv

Poor sound quality from Hi-Fi

It may have a ffew components in it that have failed, the only way to know is to have it checked by a technician. Call the nearest electronics service center to your home and ask them if they repair this brand. If they do not, you can ask them if they know who does in your area. Tell me where you are at and I may be able to find one for you. It does need troubleshooting to determain the cause of your problem.

Turns off 5-10 mins after turned on

One thing to check would be the speaker connections. If this receiver worked before you moved it and only started doing this after it was moved, that could be the source of the problem.
If the speakers are connected improperly it could cause it to go into protect mode after a few minutes.
Also check the speaker wires and make sure you don't have any frayed wire sticking out and touching the chassis of the reciever or shorting together.
The phase control symbol is something I would need to research, I have repaired several of these recievers and do not remember the phase control ever being a problem.
Logic would dictate that something is connected wrong, my first thought is the speakers, but it could be something else. I would go back over every single connection on the back of this unit and double and triple check them all. make sure the positive speaker connections are going to the positive speaker post and negative to negative.
It is also easy to connect the speakers to the wrong jacks on the reciever. You may be bridging a channel or two and that would cause the reciever to get hot very fast and shut down.
If none of this helps you may just have to take it in to a service center. I would reccomend an authorized Pioneer service center. They can at least call Pioneer tech support and talk to Mark, Bernie, or Mike at Pioneer. They are on top of all things Pioneer.

I will be happy to help you further if you need it.

No sound coming from reciever from tv

Make sure connections are going-audio out from tv to d-tv/cbl in on back of reciever. Then turn on tv and turn reciever input to d-tv/cbl and make sure the input mode is on auto. Hope this helps you.
