It is one of the most typical cases used by non-laptop computers.... Also mis-called a "desktop".

ATX refers to the motherboard, power supply and case format class. All ATX-designed hardware "fits" together.

This type of case is meant to stand upright (tower), as opposed to "on its side" (desktop).

Most older servers are "Full-height Towers" .... most home computers and/or work computers are "Mini-Towers".

ATX Mini-Tower cabinet is a "safe" buy today; however, some do not include a power supply (extra $50).... Some have small (300watt) power supplies, which is ok in 80% of systems.

Hope this helps!

A mini tower is a PC desktop case which is approx half the height of a full size desktop tower case. ATX probably refers to a ATX switch mode power supply.

Intel D945GTP power comes for one second and suddenly off

open the tower/ ATX cabinet and then check the two small power cable pins that connects the power button on the ATX cabinet and the motherboard, remove the same from the motherboards end (make sure you note down from where you removed the 2 power pins and then using a insulated screwdriver short the power pins on the motherboard for a second until you see the power coming on let go of the pins as soon as you see the CPU fan moving if it stays on and works normally it is a faulty power switch on the ATX cabinet and then you can either replace only the power switch or get a new ATX cabinet to fix it

you can also check if motherboard stays on if you remove the RAM chip from the motherboard. if yes its a faulty Ram and replacing the same should do the trick

you can also try cleaning the dust accumalated under the CPU fan and between the heat sink as some motherboard cuts off the power depending on the temperature

also if nothing works you can try using a different power supply unit to see if that's the case,

if still no luck then its time to buy a new motherboard.

I need help installing a cd drive in an Antec Sonata III 500 computer case. How do I do it?

Unplug the power from the computer. Open the case cover. Carefully remove the placeholder on the front of the case where you wish to install the CD drive. Make sure you have the proper ribbon cable for the type of drive you are installing and that you know where to plug it into the motherboard (consult your motherboard manual).

Use the screws provided to secure the drive to the chassis rails (make face of drive flush with front of case). Attach an available power supply connector to the new CD drive. Close the cover.

Use an external USB 2.0 drive. If you have a Firewire or eSATA port you can use that kind of external drive instead.
