Question about Lexmark X4270 All-in-One Multifunction Printer, Copier, Scanner, Fax
Most drivers default to color. In Windows, go to your printer folder, right click the driver and click on Properties. Check the settings to see if color is selected as default.
If it is color, your application is overriding the driver color settings and would have to be changed in that before printing.

Actually your printhead on the cartridges is probably clogged. I usually take the cartridges out, wet a paper towel and put in a dish and put in microwave for 20 seconds, then put the cartridge printhead on the paper towel for 10 seconds, and then blot with a dry towel. You should see the various colors in the color and black cartridges. Do it several times until ink in freely flowing. Put back in printer and run a clean cycle and try printing normaly. SOURCE: printer not printing
In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer the Colour Catridge should go in the right side and the black on the left........ Unplug the Power Supply from the printer....... Press and hold the Stop/Clear button on the Printer and Plug in the Power Supply while holding the Stop/Clear button it should say clearing on the screen at that point u can go ahead and release the Stop/Clear button.......... Now the Printer will ask for the Date Time and Country Language......... Set everything up...... Now try to Print i am sure it should work.......... Good Luck............
