Question about Panasonic NN-P794SF Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Same Problem - Suddenly Died ~2yrs old, very light use.

I have the same problem. Just died on me the other day. Was working fine up to that point. Went to re-heat my coffee, entered 30 seconds, hit start and it just turned off. No light, no sounds, no smells, no nothing. Completely powerless.

Fairly disappointed because I don't use it that heavily, maybe 30 minutes per week. Replaced my older unit with this one about 2 years ago. Still on the original light bulb (inside). How is it that the light bulb lasted longer than the microwave itself???

Any help would be appreciated too. I don't have the money to spend to replace this right now.

Probably a fuse inside the unit. Can be caused by overheating or by door switches not working properly.

18 years old, microwave suddenly died

When you say that you checked the circuit breaker, can I assume you meant the one for your home? There is a fuse in the microwave. Typically it is a 20 Amp fuse. To check it you will need to open the cover. A word of warning, there are some high voltage components like the capacitor that should be discharged before working on this device. If you are not familar with electronics, then you should take it to a qualified service person.

Assuming the entire power line from the breaker to the microwave cord is okay, it's almost certainly a bad connection on the circuit board of the control panel assembly. For reference, we repair these from all over the country for $32.50 postpaid.
