My question earlier today referred to a Kenmore Progressive upright vacuum. Your answer suggested that I change a belt, if the reset button did not work. Does a direct drive really have a belt? Regards, Jim Buckley

- My original question stated that the direct drive upright kenmore progressive, has little suction and the beater bar does not turn. You told me to look for a broken belt after checking the reset button. Regards, Jim

direct drive does not have a belt. It is a shaft with gears. What is wrong with your vaccum? Maby i can help.
