Need to remove lense on Powershot 870 to clean dust out

I like to ride ATV and use my 870 Powershot for pics and videos on the trail. This weekend was a dusty ride and the lense is hanging up now. Can I remove the lense myself and blow out the dust?

I wouldn't advise that you do it yourself unless you did your homework and know how to take it apart. I would buy a air can dust blower and try to get rid of it like that, followed by a lens brush to clear away extra dabre.

If nothing works, take it in for a service by your local camera store or into Canon.

Predator 500cc.i was out trail riding and it started to bog down alittle, shut it off and when i went to start it wouldnt turn over. my lights were flickering

First thing to check would be the battery connections. Make sure the positive and negative cables are tight. I've chased problems on several atvs, especially Predators, to find out the battery cables were loose. They will make the atv cut out or bog down while riding and make lights flicker. Let me know if you need anything else, Daniel.

Remove dust ccd ixus 75

Do these "stains" only appear on flash pics? Are they always in different places on each pic? If so, these are dust particles reflecting the flash back to the lens.

How to Fix the lense E18

If you are technically compitent, then its simple. Open the camera and remove the optical assembly. furthur carefully open the lense assembly apart. Remove the motor and the gear assembly so that you can move the barrels manually. carefully check for any friction in the movement. If its moving hard, take every barrel apart, clean them with some hard brush, refit the assembly. Now check the focus motor.normally fine sand or dust get accumulated on the grease at the shaft of the focus motor. clean it check for any damage the the flex ribbion cable of the lense assembly. If you can do all this carefully then reconnect the optic unit to the main board, fit it , switch it on and you will find it working.
