# In algebra formula,,,,carpeting cost \$20.00 sq. yd you carpet a room that has a width of 15 ft, for \$ 800.00 ,,what is the lenght of the room

800 / 20 = 40 square yards. And 1 yard = 3 feet so 15 feet = 5 yards.

So if length is x, use Area of rectangle: 40 = 5x so x is 8 yards or 24 feet

Here is the Solution:

1. Convert 15 ft into yards. 1 yard = 3 feet
=> 15 ft = 5 yd

2. Find the area of the given room. The cost for given room is given, and cost for carpeting 1 sq. yd is given. So,
800/20 = 40 {i.e. 40 sq. yd (area of the given room)}

3. Now, Length * Width = Area
=> x * 5 = 40 [Taking Length = x yd]
=> x = 40/5
=> x = 8 yd
=> x = 8 * 3 ft
=> x = 24 ft

So, Length of the given room is 24 ft (8yd).

I hope this solved your problem (in time).

### Converting feet into sq feet

To calculate the area of a room in square feet, measure the length and width of the room in feet, then multiply these figures together to give an area in ft². For example, a room measuring 12 ft x 15 ft would be described as having an area of 180 ft² (12 x 15 = 180).

### I need to know how much stone in tons I need to fill 8.5 acre at 1.5 ft depth

Stone is approximated at about 2700 lbs. per cu. yd.
An acre is 43560 sq. ft.
8.5 acres is 370260 sq. ft.
There 9 sq.ft. per sq. yd., thus there are 41140 sq. yds. in 8.5 acres.
A cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet (LxWxH).
Since you are only going to be at 1.5 feet, each square yard is equal to 1/2 cubic yard, so to figure the cubic yards divide sq.yds. by 2, thus you get 20570 cu. yds. of stone.

20570 x 2700 = 55539000 pounds. Divide by 2000 to get tons:
55539000/2000 = 27769.5 tons.

### If my room is 14 x12 ft how do i know how many square meters it is?

First, you want to find out the square footage of the room. You do that by multiplying length times width. In your case, 14 x 12 feet would equal 168 sq/ft. Next, you multiply square feet by square meters with 1 sq/ft equaling 0.0929 sq/m. So, 168 times 0.0929 would equal 15.6072. If you google a conversion calculator for square feet to square meter , it will give you 15.6077. In other words, your room is just over 15 and 1/2 square meters. Hope this helped

### 1.500 sq ft to how many linear ft?

Are you trying to convert 1,500 square feet to linear feet for wood flooring? You will need to know the width of the planks you are going to use in order to complete the formula; so multiply square feet times 12 and divide by the width of the wood (in inches) to get lineal feet.
Add 10% to that figure to compensate for waste cut outs and mistakes

### 800 sq ft equal how maney linear ft

It depends on the width of the individual boards. In 12" width you will need 800 lineal feet.A formula you can use is Width in ft ...such as (width in inches divided by 12) such as 8in divided by 12 = .66666 ..............then , in this example...800 divided by .66666= 1,200.012 if using any width board, just find the decimal equivalent for the width , then divide the total Sq.Ft by this decimal equivalent to obtain your answer in lineal feet needed.
