Question about LG 37LC7D 37 in. LCD HDTV
Well here's my problem. There was one time when my TV wasn't working. It wouldn't turn on. At that time the red light blinked for a second, then the green light for a second and that was it. If I unplugged it and plugged it back in right away the lights stayed off. If I unplugged it for 5 minutes and plugged it in the lights would blink again. I got it to work after 15 minutes or so. Not a clue how, but it worked. Well last week it did it again and it took me 2 hours to get it to work. I walked away to get a soda while it was plugged in and it turned on itself. Now I'm back to the problem again and instead of both lights blinking it only blinks red. And I can't get it on... Any ideas what the heck is going on?
It's 2 months old and I don't have a warranty. If worst comes to worst can I find a store with my TV and say it's only a week old and try to exchange it? I got it from Best Buy, but can I try to exchange it multiple places? They get there money back anyways when it's sent in. Let me know guys I'd be extremely greatful!
This is likely the power board. I have the same TV and I found that replacing the secondary caps on the board solved the problem. The caps that are blown are indicated by an expansion of the cross on their tops. Replace them with the same part or higher voltage rating can fix this problem for a time until they blow again. The power board is likely under engineered for the TV's power requirements. Note that if the TV turns off completely then likely caps are blown in the primary section or even the regulators.

As long as you have the bill of sale, then you have coverage for the first year from the manufacturer. That's normal coverage with BestBuy.
