How many gallons in an 88" x 15" x 9" trough?

try this :

Instructions
  1. Measure the rectangle length, width and height. For example, 8 inches long, 6 inches wide, 10 inches high.
  2. Multiply the length by the height, then double the product. With this example, 8 inches multiplied by 10 inches results in 80 square inches, which multiplied by 2 equals 160 square inches.
  3. Multiply the width by the length, then double the product. With this example, 6 inches multiplied by 8 inches equals 48 square inches, which multiplied by 2 equals 96 square inches.
  4. Multiply the height by the width, then double the product. With this example, 10 inches multiplied by 6 inches results in 60 square inches, which multiplied by 2 equals 120 square inches.
  5. Sum the amounts from Steps 1 through 3 to find the rectangle surface area. So adding 160, 96 and 120 square inches results in 376 square inches.

How much volume in gallons does three quarter inch copper pipe if it is ten f9ot long.

Hi Wayne:
For my curious mind, what is the project that you need this for?

To solve the problem, the volume of the pipe is the cross sectional area times the length.
Area = pi r squared.
= 22/7 times .75 / 2 squared
= 3.1428571 times .375 times .375
= o.4419642 square inches

The pipe is 10 feet long, times 12 equals 120 inches long.
The pipe volume is 120 times 0.4419642 equals 53.035704 cubic inches.

The next part of the question is to convert cubic inches to gallons.
I use my Texas Instruments TI-1889
53.035704 to metric, in cubed to cm cubed = 869.09608
Divide by 1,000 equals .86909608 litres
From Metric, imp gal (I'm in Canada) to L = 0.1911781

How many gallons in 500 square feet at 4" deep?

Hi
4 inches is a third of a foot - therefore the volume you are looking at is 166.6667 cubic feet.
This equals
1,038.14 Imperial gallons
1,246.75 US gallons
I give both as the are clearly different and you did not specify.
Cheers

Solid mensuration problem solving

First a square has equal sides, it means s= square root of 225 = 15.
Height of the base is equal to 15. Volume of the prism = Base area x Height = 225(15) = 3375 cu. cm x 1 liter / 1000 cu. cm = 3.375 liters
Ans = 3.375 liters

I have a scale 1:100 on a floor plan, but i need the conversion using 1/4 " scale = 1 foot

1/4 inch to 1 foot is the same as 1/4 in. to 12 in. which is 12 divided 1/4 in. equals 1 : 48 If you want to convert from 1:100 to 1:48 then the conversion is 100 to 48 equals 2.083333 or the reciprocal 48 divided by 100 or 0.48

Hi i need to calclate 60 meters long 30 meters wide by 12 inches deep, into cubic meter

the 60 by 30 meters is easy. that is 1,800 meters squared. Since 1 inch is equal to 0.0254 meters, 12 inches equals 0.3048 meters. multiply that by the 1,800 you already have and you get 548.64 meters cubed

What are the specs on a kicker sub box for a challenger srt8

On a 8 inch subwoofer ranging between 80Hz and 120Hz, the box size required should be around 11 liters, meaning that you will end up with a box of 9 inches high, x 9 inches wide, x 9 inches deep. Or 225mm high, x 225mm wide, x 225mm deep. Seal the box on the inside with silicone for better bass.
