Alpine CDA-9884 buttons do not work and sometime does not turn on

I have a n Alpine CDA-9884 2 months out of warranty that sometime does not turn on and when it does goes right to the tuner and you can't get out of this mode and none of the panel buttons work. I tried the rest button but that didn't help.

this will sound insane but it works; remove the radio remove the indicator panel (with the buttons) and, soak the buttons in rubbing alcoho then let dry for 24 hours,
you have drit in the unit holding the switches on
