How do I rtemove a condensate pump from a CAH36D

Had some nuisance hot complaints. Fan runs without compressor. Thought the stat was bad until I found the unit has a built in condensate pump. How do I remove a condensate pump from a CAH36D ceiling unit? I want to check the float, pump, sensor that opens contacts to compressor, etc.

Condenser Fan Shuts off after 15-20min, Compressor continues to run but gets hot

Condenser fan motor or motor wiring is bad. That compressor should never run without the fan. Good luck.

Rangemaster sxs cream . Why is my fridge and freezer the same temp ???? If anybody could give me an answer or solution.

Jason,
MOST refrigerators get there cold from the freezer side and circulate it via a fan that's also normally inside the freezer. There are three motors normally in a refrigeration system. The inside Evaporator fan motor that circulates air across the evaporator coil inside the box, the Condenser fan motor near the compressor that cools the freon after compression, and the compressor itself. If you open the doors (and sometimes you may have to hold in the door switches) do you hear a fan running? If not you could have a couple things going on: 1. The fan(s) has failed. 2. The freezer Evap coil may of iced over and the fan too is frozen stopped. 3. Your condensing unit:(compressor, condenser fan, condenser coils) has a problem.
It is important to know if the compressor itself is running. If there is a loose connection to the compressor via the start/over load relay (normally attaches directly onto the compressor), or if the start/over load otself is bad the compressor will not run. Best way to tell is via gauges but I doubt your frig has ports. Check to see if your compressor is really hot. Could be bad start/over load relay or bad compressor. Try unplugging your frig for say 30 min then, with your hand on top of a cool compressor, plug the frig back in and see if compressor smoothly vibrates for at least 5 min without becoming very hot or shutting off even though fan continues to run. The fact your fan is running TYPICALLY means the thermostat is calling for lower temps and the fan/compressor kick in together.

I have kelvinator fridge it doesn't cool in both compartment we replaced the compressor il coold down for only 3dayes then returned back to hot state

is the condenser fan running back there?also did you clean out the condenser coil?usually when the middle strip gets hot the coil is filled with dust or the fan where the compressor is isn't running.the condenser fan keeps the compressor cool and all the heat from the machine escapes out through the condenser coil.check this, also the start device could be bad on the compressor, send model number next time you write so whoever helps you can look up your machine.hope this info helps you out.

My fridge gets really hot on top and between the fridge and freezer where the door meets

next time send the model number and brand name.usually when this happens is the condenser fan motor isn't working.pull the fridge out, remove the bottom back panel and check the fan to see if it's working,if it is check the condenser coil to see if it's filled with lint and dust,it could just need to be cleaned out but if it's that hot most likely the fan isn't running,if you get this tonight check it now,if the fan isn't running you could blow the compressor, the condenser fan blows and keeps the compressor cool enough so it doesn't overheat by moving the hot air and the heat also esscapes through the condenser coil so if that's clogged with dust the machine will run hotter than normal,if the fan isn't running you can stick any window fan back there and blow it onto the compressor to keep it cool until you fix the condenser fan motor, this way you won't loose any food and if the compressor goes it's new fridge time,to much to repair.hope this helps and good luck with your machine.one more thing,i've found the fans not running and by pushing the blade it runs again,if this happens the fan could run and never have a problem or it could stop an hour later but i would change it out no matter what.if it's a G.E. fridge and the motor isn't running, most likely it will be the computer board,i've found 10 machines doing this and the temp. settings turning on and off or the evap fan motor in the freezer runs slow and then fast and the condenser fan isn't running or running slowly, this is why you have to send the brand name and model number.

The capacitor was bad and was replaced. now the system will work fine for about 30 min then the fan the outside unit will stop working. it sounds like the compressor is still on and cold air is will...

Yes, if you changed the three post capacitor that runs the fan and compressor, and the fan is still getting hot and shutting down until it cools off, you may have bushings out of the motor or an internal short. Sounds like you have a job ahead of you of changing your condenser motor. If you do this yourself just contact me I will step you through it . Mark

Why won't our blower turn off?

Hi,
It seems that you have the emergency heat running all the time. On some t-stats there is a switch that runs the emergency heat all the time.
The other thing that could be happening is that the out door unit is stuck in defrost so the backup heat is trying to run any time you are in heating mode.
Without checking what is energizing the heat coils with an electric meter it is impossible to tell what exactly is going on.
I can tell you that I'm sure that it is related to the emergency heat, though and if you can shut off the breaker that runs that for now it will help you out till you can get it looked at futher.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Freezer works Refrigerator will not cool down

The compressor should be OK this time because you caught it in time. But if the condenser fan stops you need to consider replacing the fan. I have had refrigerators do fine until the fan motor warms up and you are away, it stops. Don't think you should use the refrigerator until the fan is fixed. Sea Breeze

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

The small copper line should not be really hot its supposed to be carrying liquid refrigerant which has already had the heat "pressed" out of it by the compressor and carried of by the air flowing over the condenser coil. This could indicate a few things; that your unit is overcharged, you have a mismatched evaporator coil and condenser, an ineffective condenser fan motor or a clogged condenser coil and as a result your compressor is shutting of due to an overload condition from the building heat and back pressure between the compressor outlet and the evaporator inlet.

First make sure your condenser is clean and that adequate air is flowing over the fins of the condenser coil. Then be sure your equipment is a matched system. A indication that your condenser fan motor is not at speed is slow starting a humming sound and excessive heat. In my experience this complaint is generally the result of a bad condenser fan motor that over heats and shuts of after a short period and the build up of heat in the liquid refrigerant line of course trips the compressor overload circuit- which by the way usually takes hours to reset. I hope you've already resolved this, but in case you haven't......
