Question about Recoton Advent Advent AW-871 Main / Stereo Speaker

1 Answer

No power light, red or blue after working for a year.

Speaker had been working flawlessly. Blue light was on. I turned off speaker with knob to move it a few feet. Once plugged back in red or blue light, but a low pop sound each time I try to turn it on, followed by another low pop sound(like it's trying to tune). Wires inside are still soldered.

Hi Jerry, Are you using this method to pair your device?

The Bluetooth-enabled device that you wish to stream audio to your speaker system must
fi rst be paired to the speaker. The process is simple, and in most cases the pairing process
needs to be done only once.
To pair your Bluetooth-enabled device with the speaker:
    1. Make sure your device's Bluetooth is turned on. See the wireless and/or network settings
menu on your device to check.
    2. If the speaker isn't already on, press the On-Off button to turn it on. You will hear a beep
to indicate the speaker is turned on. The indicator light on the back of the speaker starts
    fl ashing blue.
    3. Press and hold for 3 seconds the Pair button to enter pairing mode. You will hear 2 beeps
to indicate pairing mode is entered. The indicator on the back of the speaker starts blinking
    4. Open the Bluetooth settings menu on your device. Select "AR SPEAKER" from the list of
devices available (you might have to scan for devices). If your device asks for a password,
    enter "0000".
    5. A confirmation screen will appear on your device once the speaker and the device are
successfully paired. The blue indicator turns solid blue to indicate successful connection.
The speaker is now ready for you to stream audio from your device.

My iPad won't find my Bluetooth speaker

Go to settings, General, blue tooth and remove any "other" previous paired BT devices & Turn off BT, then go to Sett. General, scroll down to reset and reset network settings, this will not delete anything. Power off BT speaker. after iPad re-boots turn on BT Speaker First, make sure BT is off on iPad as well as WIFI-wait like 10-15 seconds and then turn BT on in iPad it should see your speaker now and let you pair it up.

Splice Bose speaker to connect to receiver

Each speaker has two 4 Ohm drivers. Each speaker has a connector with 4 pins. From left to right they are + - - +. Say 1 2 3 4 . If you want a 8 Ohm speaker connect 2 and 4 together. Now 1 goes to your amplifier (+) and 3 to your amplifier (-). In yor case join black with blue. Now red goes to the amplifier red and green to the amplifier black.

Cannot get the speaker system to function. I recently purchased a new Sony Bravia HDTV and want to transfer my AW871 Wireless Speaker System to the new TV. In trying to get it up and functioning I cannot seem to get it to function. I simply disconnected them to the former TV a Toshiba projection TV and let it sit for a week or so until I kgot familiar with the new Sony. In trying to get the Speaker System to function it will not work. The speakers light up and seeks the different frequencies it is supposed to. But the Transmitter does not light up or transmits any sound to the speakers. An admonition in the operations manual warns tha if it is not properly hooked up you can severly damage the transmitter. This could have possibly happened in this case. I have tried all available avenues in seeking a resolution to the problem but to no avail. I called the 800 number in the manuel and drew a blank. The girl on the phone was vacant and uncaring. She told me to go back where I bought the system and get it checked out by a technician at the store. I purchased the System at BEST BUY and have found their GEEK. SQUAD to be deficient and not all that swift.. I am not sure if the transmitter is gone or not and I am willing to buy another one but I cannjot make any progress is getting information as to where to get one or what is the best way to get the thing checked out/repaired/replaced. I am not technical or have the smarts" to work out anything in technical jargon and any assistance in plain and simple language would be appreciated. Can anyone out there help me with information or a possible solution to this problem?
