Follow these instructions first - start > control panel > keyboard - there are two sliding controls for speed settings for the keyboard - one for slow and second for high. - Set it for high high speed If it didn't helps you then simply get the system utility program like PC Fresher that will fix windows errors that cause of keyboard slow
It is not the keyboard it is the computer that has a problem. Try dumping any programs that run in the background to speed things up, this Free's up computing power from the processor and this of course speeds up all t e functions.
Assuming you are on Windows, go into your control Panel and go to your Mouse Settings. You show be able to slow it down from there. Scroll Speed will be where you want to adjust.

Hi, open the control panel, switch to classic view, double click the keyboard icon and check what speed the repeat delay and the prepat speed are set al. you can adjust these with the two sliders and it gives you a place to test your settings befor you click ok and commit to them. Hope this helps
The keyboard its self wont be running slow, it will be the entire computer. I would suggest you try and speed it up. Read the two blogs below to speed up your PC and let me know how you get on.

under speed tab select short speed delay and long repeat rate.
if this does not work , replace your keyboard if this don't work
missing letters ... can be due to dust or sticky keyboard on the keyboard .. check if some thing spilled on the keyboard,,,... slow typing speed can be coz of virus .. may be ur comp is running too slow coz of an infextion or low memory .. scan the comp with spyware terminator free software online available... hope it works if doesnt then try to put some more ram on the board and see... do post the results... tc
