I just had the same problem. I downloaded a service manual and give this a try

. Turn on your TV and with the remote do the following
Key in the code “123654” via the standard RC transmitter. This get you into a customer service mode and you can check your error codes. After I got out this mode my TV worked. I think the TV was stuck in protection mode for some reason and by entering the service menu's it reset it. I then entered the SAM Mode How to Activate SAM Via a standard RC transmitter: key in the code “062596” directly followed by the “INFO” button. After activating SAM with this method a service warning will appear on the screen, you can continue by pressing the red button on the RC. It will give you more info. The TV worked fine after I exited these menu's. I also did a software update as per the user manual and the TV seems to be working fine again.

When my plasma displays words or graphics on a white screen, there are shadows behind the words. These pinkish/brown shadows go across the entire width of the screen. What could cause this problem?
