Question about Electrolux Icon Professional Ice Maker Free Delivery

Electrolux Side-By-Side Refrigerator making really load noise

Several problems now occuring. Water was coming from under the refrigerator, however, the bottom of the freezer was filled with water and partially frozen. We have had this problem before and have to take off the panel and chip away the ice and it works again. Now only crush iced is being made and the refrigerator is not cooling, although we can hear a fan running. We took a look at the solenoid and it looks like it has burnt up or something. We looked online a you can buy a solenoid kit to replace that, but that should only correct the cube ice problem.

You have a defrost system issue! DON'T chip any more ice!! EEEKKS! You are lucky you didn't puncture the freon line! There is no repairing a punctured freon line!! We will send the correct parts to you if you will please provide your model number for this unit. Once you replace this defrost system. you will not have any more icing up issues. You must, however, defrost the unit out before you replace the defrost system. You can do this by unplugging your unit for at least a whole day and by placing a fan in front of the opened up unit to allow it to thaw out PROPERLY. BTW: I love the Electrolux Icon appliances. I hope this resolves your problem and I hope to hear back from you soon. We answer our phones from 7 Am until 9:30 PM CST.

Water and ice dispenser will not shut off

You need to replace both the solenoid for the ice maker and the water dispenser. Easy job, less than 1 hour. Parts should be under $50. Facing the back of the refrigerator the solenoids are located on the lower right behind the hardboard cover where the water comes.

The the replacement parts are a little different than what you have, and much easier to work with. Just cut the water lines close to the old solenoids (you don't have much extra to play with). You'll just push the water lines into the new solenoid valves.

Make sure the water is off and the refrigerator is unplugged.

My refrigerator mades a loud humming noise

Hello Mona, thank you for your post!

Honestly it depends on when and how long the noise occurs. The only moving parts in the freezer on a side by side refrigerator are the evaporator fan and ice maker (if equipped). Also, you may hear the air damper in the refrigerator compartment moving when it is opening or closing. I recommend consulting a service provide and suggest that it may be normal.

Insert it in the drain in the bottom and squeeze it cleaning the drain. Several applications will solve the problem, and do not forget the refrigerator side as well.

Good Luck,
