if its like all the others prime it 4 to 6 times and full choke. pull hard. put choke to center when it starts and let warm up a few minutes and then shut choke off and go nuts... if it has an actual throttle it should be full on aka rabbit on some machines. im sure you can google a owners manual easily too...good luck

Your direction with the gears appears to be 180 degrees out. You may also consider flipping the entire shaft assembly. You. Knowing this assembly is put together correctly.

In my case noise was coming from the plastic blade rubbing against the sheet metal housing. I removed the motor and added 2 washers to the mounting screws. The washers acted as spacers and lifted up the motor/blade assembly with respect to the sheet metal housing. The blade no longer rubbed against the housing and the noise stopped.
