Question about Pioneer Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a VSX-26TX Pioneer Elite receiver, it was working great last night and today it won't even turn on. The only things I have hooked up to it is a CD player, 4 klipsch speakers and a Klipsch KWS 20 Subwoofer. The receiver, CD player and Sub are all plugged into a surge protector. Both the CD player and sub power on fine. I tried unplugging the receiver and re-plugging it and I have also plugged the receiver to another outlet in the house....NO Power. Any ideas ? Fuse maybe ? but I have no idea where the fuse is in this unit.

SOURCE: hooking up a Klipsch

Need to confirm that you have a subwoofer cable which is a coax cable. I have seen this sort of issue when using a standard RCA cable. If you need a cable you can order it at monoprice.com

Good luck..

SOURCE: No sound from Sub Pre-out on Onkyo TX-SR606

Also, it could possibly the preout terminal itself that is not working. One way to prove that is by transferring the subwoofer cable from the preout and temporarily transfer it to the tape out section. If it ouputs sound from there, then that means the speaker and the cables are working fine and it's just the preout terminal itself that is not picking up anything. ^_^

SOURCE: Klipsch ksw subwoofer wont power on

The problem is Klipsch's problem, and they don't seem to want to face it. My 10" subwoofer blows the fuse before the power light can even come on. It's obvious that the fuse is not strong enough, but there is a delicate area between the fuse and the power supply. Too many amps on a fuse may keep it from blowing, but it may cook the power supply. Kipsch needs to fix this, tell us how to fix it, or replace it...at their expense. This should NOT be happening. Otherwise a great speaker....when it works.

I had the same problem. Dont know why the receiver set it up this way but grab your remote, go down to the lower right and select ch setup. Keep on pressing it till your receiver says SW. Then press lev+ on your remote to change the db on your powered sub.

You should be able to get a cable that will allow you to hook up the headphone output of your laptop to an rca input on your receiver.

With nothing showing up on the front panel display, I would first look at the power transformer. there is a thermal fuse built into the transformer core, and with your description on what happened, it could have gotten too hot and blown this fuse.
