Laptop ESystem. Fix new RAM. I have a solution to the problem. Turn the machine on it's face. There is a large "Base Plate" above the small position where you would normally insert extra RAM. Carefully remove all the retaining screws. Note where the shortest screw is from. Remove the plate. The area where the RAM is is exposed. Carefully insert the new RAM into position and fix with the screws. This information is free from F G Harris.

Open up the side and make sure you have the right part. then you should see the already installed memory just undo the two clips. ( one at the top and one at the bottom ) then make sure you have the memory the right way round the just pop it in. ( and try not to put to much pressure on the motherboard ) James.

My esystem laptop keeps tuning of when it gets hot

Hi susan
Thanks for posting.

This because of the following
1. Overheating of processor due to bad vents near the CPU fan
2. Due to lot of dust inside.
3. Bad adapter power supply
4. Bad memory module

1st and the top most is to inspect if the fan is at high RPM when its hot. Any ways you can open the laptop and inspect the Heatsink it is a brass assy. which is just above the CPU. and a fan connected to it so it can vent the heat generated by the Processor. Normally if you use the laptop on bed or sofa the lint collected by the suction of the fan from the vent area at the bottom of the laptop will get accomulated neat the exhaust area of the fan causing the fan to slowdown and hence resulting in this sort of problem. If you are not confident in opeing the laptop do take it some nearest store for the same.

How do you install replacement memory to amilo pro series v2085 laptop

Most laptops have an access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Remove the screw on the panel and lift off the panel. The RAM module/s ia held in place by clips on the edge of the RAM module. Push the clips to the side and the RAM module will pop up at an angle and then pull the RAM module off the connector.
When you install the new RAM module/s just reverse the process of removing the RAM module/s.

RK549AA-ABA SR2170NX problem: i think my second slot for ram is no good. i'm supposed to be able to install 2 gb max . I bought 1gb ram to install in slot # 2 but it doesn't work. can i install...

Is the 1Gb RAM you purchase the same make and speed as the original? If not, they may not be compatible with each other or the new RAM module may be faulty.
Try removing the RAM from slot 1 and insert the new 1Gb RAM module in slot and boot up your laptop to test the new 1GB RAM module.
Installing a single 2Gb RAM module should work.

You can adding RAM to your Acer Laptop by following the below steps.

How do I install new ram memory on my dell demension 3000 computer

The RAM modules fit into slots on the motherboard and held in place with clips at the ends of the RAM module.
To remove the RAM module, push these clips to down and the RAM will pop up out of the memory slot.
When you insert the new RAM module/s, place the module in the memory slot, it will only fit in one direction, the RAM module have a notch on the edge where if fits into the memory slot.
Press the RAM module firmly into the slot until the clips pop up and locks the RAM module in place then check the clips are firmly in place.
I recommend you install DDR RAM PC3200 in pairs as per the manual.

With 512MB RAM in slot1, laptop is working fine, but when I tried to install other 512 ram in slot 2, there were no display and numlock and caplock led start blinking. Both RAM are originally shipped with...

umm .. Are both RAM memory modules the same type? You can fit different types of RAM to a computer but they may not be compatible together. Check that both modules are the same.

Other than that, it sounds as if the problem may be slot 2. This would suggest that either the RAM isn't being correctly engaged or the slot is faulty.

Switch off the computer. Put a memory module into slot 2 to see if the computer works. Try it with both memory modules using slot 2. If neither memory module works in slot 2 this indicates a fault - motherboard probably.

If one memory module works in slot 2 - but not the other module - this tends to indicate a mismatch between the RAM modules and they are not compatible together.

I added more memory to my vista

Has the BIOS detected the additional memory or it has stayed the same?
Is the new RAM the same make as the other RAM module and speed?

To determine if the new RAM is OK, remove both RAM modules and insert only the new RAM module and see if the laptop boots up.
If it doesn't boot up then the RAM module is either faulty or incompatible with your laptop.
If it boots up then insert the other RAM module in the second memory slot. Check the BIOS to see if the RAM has increased. If not then the RAM modules are incompatible with each other. I suggest you look at the make of the original RAM module and purchase the second one from the same manufacturer.

There is a small leak from the fitting where the brake lines run into a module up behind the rear tire passenger side. Is this an easy fix, and is this a common issue?

It should since the vehicle is pretty new. But yo may need to replace a small piece of brake line. I would try to just tighten the fitting first. Then bleed ths esystem as if it leaked it has drawn in air.
