- I have a whirlpool refreigerator and the light on the numbers setting dial went off, as did the lights in the refrigerator. The lights in the freezer work fine. It is obviously not the circuit breaker and bought new appliance bulbs which I tested and they work, but not in the refrigerator. I discovered that when I remove the light bulbs that the light in the numbers works again.
