Best way I have found, and this is what most repairmen do is take the outer casing off and manually clean the lens with alcohol and wipe with a cotton cloth, also allows you to lubricate moving parts with Vaseline and a Que tip.

How do I clean the lenses

Remove as much dust and dirt as possible from the lens with a blower or soft-bristled brush. Apply a few drops of lens cleaning solution to a lens tissue or cleaning cloth. Using a circular motion, gently remove oil, fingerprints, and grime from the lens surface, working from the center outward.

Lens cleaning

Buy a lens pen and carefully clean the lens yourself. it will set you back about 10 dollar. If you never removed the lens form your camera, it is only the front lens you need to clean. Don't use any fluid, unless it says social for photo camera lenses. If you scratched the lens, no way it can be cleaned or repaired it. It would be cheaper to buy a new lens.

There is dust inside the lens. how do I clean the dust from inside the lens?

Your projector needs little maintenance. The only thing you need to do on a regular basis is

to keep the lens clean.

Never remove any parts of the projector except the lamp. Contact your dealer if other parts

need replacing.

Cleaning the lens

Clean the lens whenever you notice dirt or dust on the surface.

• Use a canister of compressed air to remove dust.

• If there is dirt or smears, use lens-cleaning paper or moisten a soft cloth with lens cleaner

and gently wipe the lens surface.

Never rub the lens with abrasive materials.

Am getting code e-04 which manual says is dirty cd remove and clean ive looked at all cds and all appear speckless

The CD lens may be dirty. If you have a CD lens cleaning kit or a CD-rom with a cd lens cleaning brush, I suggest you try either of those. Don't use a paper towel as they can be quite abrasive to a delicate CD lens. If you have camera lens cleaning equipment and can see the CD lens (use a flashlight), you may attempt to gently clean the lens with the camera lens cloth and solution.

Cleaning Lens

To clean the lens, remove cover, take a cotton swab and dip it in rubbing alcohol and rub cotton swab on lens.
This will clean your lens. If the problem persists after the lens is cleaned, than the laser motor is bad, or the timing is off and will need new mechanism.

I hav lg dvd writer it plays cd but dvd what to do

That is because of a dirty or defective lens. When you have a lens problem the unit may still play CD but not DVDs.

Try first using a lens cleaner disk, like the ones here.

If that does not work, the unit must be disassembled, and lense cleaned with q tips and isopropyl alcohol or cleaning solution. See below:

Unit plays DVD but no longer Blu Rays

That is because of a dirty or defective lens. When lens is dirty, the unit may still operate on regular CDs and DVDs and not be reading BD.

Try first using a lens cleaner for Blue Ray: Maxell 190054 Blu-Ray Lens Cleaner

If that does not work, the unit may be disassembled, and lense cleaned with q tips and isopropyl alcohol or cleaning solution. See below:

Being this a blue ray unit , I would suggest calling support instead of disassembling the unit by yourself.

How do I clean the camera lens?

The best way to clean a lens is to use a piece of lint free lens cleaning tissue and a small amount of lens cleaning solution. Place a drop or two of cleaner on the tissue (never directly onto the lens) and then wipe the lens in a circular motion, removing any marks or smear. Additionally a smaller blower brush can be used to simply blow off or brush away loose dust. If the above supplies are not available a clean, dry, soft, lint free cloth can be used to clean the lens. The same method can be used to clean the viewfinder eyepiece of Nikon cameras.
