Yes it does this is an INTERNAL model and you should be looking fo a connector about 1" wide and 1/4 thick

These pics show you what to look for

Note the shape it should only go in one way.

If you dont have any spare connections most computer shops sell a
1 into 2 adaptor that will get you going see the pics again for more idea.

Can av plugs get fixed

You can purchase another power cord on eBay. Just put in your computer's model such as Compaq F500. The computer's model, not the power cord model.

If the port (DC Power Jack) where the power cord is broken or loose, then you will have to wiggle it to get it to connect and boot. If it's too far gone it will not boot and the DC Power Jack will have to be replaced.

CW088D CD-RW Tray ejects with CD in it but not empty

If the tray retracts but doesn't close 100% then it will open back-up. If it is closing fully then returning open then it is a bad drawer switch. It's hard to get to but if you do get in there, a little WD40 lube might help it actuate. Good luck!

Power cord has been cut

Yes you can replace the entire cord, or you can splice the cord back together. Get some crimp on wire connectors get a tube of heat shrink that will fit over the cord, cut back the insulation crimp, the wires back together (match color to color). heat the shrink or tape it up. Back in business.

Power cord

You may have a broken solder connection - some sort of broken or intermittent connection. Common problems are broken solder connections at the power jack (inside the laptop). If this is the case, the laptop will need to be disassembled for repairs to be made. Note: There are online sites with DC power jacks available, crossed by Model number.

Wiring can also break (external to the laptop) especially if the wire/cord is flexed frequently (like when wrapped up to put into the laptop bag). Sometimes there is no external evidence of a break.

Also, if indeed your laptop has a pig-tale as you describe, the jack where you connect might be worn out- just not making contact with the plug.

Find someone with a little tech savvy, if necessary, and locate the exact nature of the bad connection, and make repairs from there.
