Question about Samsung LN32A550 32 in. LCD TV
They came installed 2 room with dvr on monday. they were very helpful and curtious but tuesday night the bedroom box shuts off and starts rebooting then after the 3rd reboot it finally returns to playing tv, but only for about 10 secounds before it reboots again it then went on a frenzie of rebooting for the next 2 hours while i was in the living room. i unplugged it for a min but when i plugged it back in it continued rebooting like there was no tomarrow.
its now wendsday evening the tech just left i have a new box in the bedroom and he explained to me how the box was the problem. thats all fine and dandy but an hour after he leaves the new box follows the old ones ft steps of constantly rebooting. iv tried using an extension cord from the other room to seem if outlet change makes a diff and it doesn't. i had a ps2 ran through the cable box which i disconnected, and even tried new tv. when i called to talk to cable dispatcher she said she coulndt detect that box was connected. so she rechedules me for another apointment.......any suggestions?

It does sound a lot like a buffer board problem, Just which one is the question. Sometimes it is in fact a connection issue. But 1/2 of the screen missing sounds like maybe connection between the 2 buffer boards. It could possibly be the panel. If that is the case. ITs over for that set. But i would suggest first calling samsung and asking them to extend the warranty for 90 days or so. Sometimes they will do this for nice customer such as yourself. 1-800-SAMSUNG. I finally got mine fixed. All the 3253h have this problem. It took two service trips because Samsung messed up the service bulletin. I had a court date and everything for my local CC, but I finally got the issue resolved. There is a choke around a coil on the power supply board, when the tv is warm that is what is making the noise. The coil/choke was replaced with a new version and the sound is gone. Strange but this is not a component level fix. A new component gives you the same problem. Either way I'm happy now

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I just moved and set up my Samsung 40" LCD and it has been going off and on by itself with the worst yesterday every 2-3 minutes. After speaking with a friend of mine who is not in the Tv business but just has good common sense, I determined it was likely a bad power strip. The bottom line is I replaced the crappy power strip (which was fully loaded with all 6 outlets in use) with the higher quality one I had in the other room. The problem is gone. I suspect the power strip was failing or real bad quality........try plugging the tv directly into the wall outlet first. hope this helped.
