Question about Kenwood KDC-MP435U CD Player

Navigating through ipod playlists

I bought this cd player mainly because it seemed easy to just plug in my ipod. however, I can't use the ipod controls when it's plugged into the cd player and I have no idea how to navigate through my playlists. It plays random songs, and says there are "folders" but there is no rhyme or reason to their order it seems. All my playlists within my ipod are by artist and I really want to be able to search for a specific song and play it. Surely I don't have to just listen to random songs whenever I plug in my ipod..there has to be a way to search or go through my playlists, right? If ANYONE can help me with this I'll be most appreciative!!

Unfortunately, I have the same exact issue, and the manual really isn't incredibly useful in helping with this or recognition of burned CDs (neither mode1 or mode2 work).

I called Kenwood and figured out the problem. If you just use a regular USB cable like the one that goes to the computer the radio treats it as a mass storage device. You have to get the KCA-iP200 cable which plugs in the back as well as the usb in the front and then they go into the iPod. Then you can control your playlist. I found a new one online for $13.

Unplug the ipod, start playing the playlist you want, and plug it back in

The iPod's shuffle feature lets you randomize playback of albums, songs or even your entire music library. You may also find this feature useful if you want to listen to forgotten tracks in your library or discover songs you haven't listened to yet. Disabling the shuffle feature will return playback of a song list to its standard consecutive order. You can enable and disable the shuffle feature at any time.

Navigate to the main menu. Select "Settings." Scroll to the "Shuffle" option. Select "Songs" or "Albums." If you select "Songs," the iPod Classic will shuffle the songs on whatever song list you listen to. If you select "Albums," the iPod Classic will play all songs of an album you select in order and then randomly select another album. Navigate to the playlist or album to which you want to listen. Play a song to initiate the shuffle. b> iPod Nano and iPod Touch Tap the "Songs" icon on your nano home screen. If you are using an iPod Touch, open the "iPod" application. Navigate to the song list, playlist or album you want to play. Tap the "Shuffle" icon at the top of the list to activate the feature.

Hi I have a playlist on my itunes which when I download it onto my ipod, one of the songs is missed off. This song shows and plays on the playlist on itunes, and is on the main menu of my ipod, just not...

  1. Plug in your iPod to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. Sync your device.
  3. Re-check to make sure that song is under that specific playlist (if its not drag it onto the playlist)
  4. Make sure the box next to the song in iTunes is checked meaning it will sync with your iPod and your playlist.
  5. Apply the changes you have made to the playlist by re-syncing your iPod.
  6. If the box is checked and you sync your device the song should be listed under your playlist.

Cant get songs onto ipod shuffle.(daughter has ipod touch)

Hi there,
When you go into the ipod section on iTunes, click the music tab, make sure 'sync music' is checked and 'selected playlists:' is also, then check the playlist you want to use. Click 'sync' button

If that don't work go back to the summary tab and hit 'restore' and follow the instructions to reset the ipod, resync and all should be fine.

All the best

IVE JUST BOUGHT A LAPTOP,IVE GOT MY ITUNES ON IT AND IT WONT LET ME COPY ANY OF MY MUSIC ONTO DISC.

are you trying to copy music onto a cd disk or onto your ipod. If you are trying to copy music onto your ipod, you will have to clear the ipod of the music that was loaded onto it previously, because it will not detect your new settings on your laptop. An easy way to do this is copy over your itunes music folder onto cd/dvd from your old computer and paste the music into your itunes music folder on your laptop. When you open itunes go to file, import file, and choose your itunes music folder. (If it hasn't aready automatically picked the music up). This will put all of your music back into the itunes library. You will then need to create another playlist for your ipod. Reset your ipod in itunes mode and upload your new playlist onto it. If you have vista on your laptop then you may need to download the lastest version of itunes. You can do that by going here> http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
I hope this helps
