The microphone doesn' t work

Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click Apply Click "Levels" tab and set sliders to approx 80% ( adjust to suit later)
Click OK
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

Once you have set your webcam mic to default on your computer and it is working you have to set it as the default device to any chat program you want to use it in
MSN
Open menu > Tools > Audio and video setup - set mic > Next - set webcam > Finish

Yahoo Messenger
Open messenger - on top toolbar. Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Connection - Select 'no proxies' or 'connect direct to the internet' depending on the version of messenger you have
make sure your internet connection and country are correct in the lower two boxes > Apply > OK Click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Calling and Audio Set mic and speakers to show Default equipment Run call up assistant to test audio equipment > Apply > OK
Skype

1. Start Skype.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.
4. Select your webcam device as the default microphone.
5. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
6. Select your webcam device as the default Webcam.
7. Click Save.
8. Test LifeCam by making a Skype test call.
